The Sanitary Engineor said that he hoped y~,h.at <br />we would make complaint, so, that the County Cammissioners would try <br />to find the funds to improve the service m Iri the meantimes ho~rever, <br />the county insists that it cannot continue to give even the present <br />serv~.ce at less than cost and that it is necessary that X5.00 per <br />connection be charged to cover the bare cost® Mr. Heiss then <br />introduced Ordinance PTO. 329 eriti't,.ed: "An Ordinance to Approve an <br />Agreement bethreen Cuyahoga County and the Village oi" Mayfield for the <br />Trea~L-ment of Sevrage From a Portion of the Village of Mayfield at a <br />Sewage Disposal Plant riorr operated by Cuyahoga County", which Ordinance <br />was given its first reading. All members of Council who vrere present <br />stated that they favored the Ardiriance as they felt that they could not <br />risk the county's shutting off of the sex°tri.ce or the expense of a <br />lawsuit. Hocrever, as only four members of Council were proserit, rio <br />further action could be taken. <br />Mr® Heiss. then~$~troduced Ordinance No. 330 entitleds "Ari <br />Ordinance to Amend Section of Ordinance No. 316 entitled: ~~.Ari _ <br />ordinance to Levy a Charge or Rorital upon, Lots and Premises_Served <br />by Sevver Connections with the County Sewage Disposal Plant on the <br />East Side of Beach Hi11 Road' by increasing the sewage charge or <br />rental to X5.25 per connection per year", which ordinance was given <br />its first reading. _ <br />1~Ir. Edelmar_ then gave a report to Council on the hearing <br />before -the County Commissioners on the Boriuyvievr Road encroachment. <br />Mr, Edelman said that the County had agreed to straighten the road at its <br />own exporise. <br />Mayor Swanson read a letter from the Apartment and Home Owners <br />Association on rent control and then took up the matter of rent control <br />in, our Villagee As we have very fe~v homes in this category, Couzacil did <br />not take azW action. <br />Council then considered the matter of proper lights on our <br />serv-i.ce trucl~ to allow for snow plowing operations This matter had been <br />tabled at the last meeting® After discussions it was moved by Mr® Hardman, <br />seconded by Mr® Sloans that our Serva.cv Director have proper lights- and a <br />flasher installed on the serv5.ce truclc, so that he would be able to use <br />the snow plows <br />Roll Calls Ayes _ Messrs Hardmans•Sloans Cass and Heiss. <br />_ Vat's - None a _ <br />_ Motion Carrion. <br />The following Police report was read to Council: From Sept. <br />19s 1949, tq October 17s 1949, 33 arrests for traffic va.olatioriss 37 <br />police callss_6 mutual aid calls, 2 accidents reporteds 1 hospital run, 2 <br />cases under investigations and S suspicious person reportso <br />3Q <br />
