1 <br />Fire Chief Porter reported that on October 2nd,-1949, an <br />emergency call to the Ervin Season residence in Aintree Park tivas <br />received. This was a resuscitator case and was answered by the Chief <br />and four firemen. Two fire drills were held during the month. <br />Mayor Stivanson reported 22 traffic violation cases and fines <br />totaling X252.800 <br />The Clerk reported to Council that he had received no bids for <br />the sale of. our Police car ~aor bids for the purchase of anew one. <br />At this point Fire Chief Porter took up wit12 Couzacil the <br />matter of selling some of ,the Fire Extinguishers Hour spotted at various <br />points in the Village and no longer needed. No action was taken on <br />this matter. <br />A discussion was had regarding .the absence of an Anti- <br />Ga~-nbling Ordinance in the Villageo Mr. Sloan then introduced Ordinance <br />No®331 entitled: "An Ordinance to Prohibit Gambling in the Village <br />ox' Mayfield" ~+rhich_ordinance yeas given its first readings <br />Chief Porter then asked Mayor Swanson to consider tho <br />resignations of John Schwemlor and Frank RivBrS. These resignations <br />tnrere accepted with regret by tho ~'layor.: At the satpe time Chief Porter <br />asked the Mayor to consider the appointment of Phillip. Lierse as._ <br />Fireman. Mayor Swanson then appointed Mr. Lierse of Ti'~hite Road. It <br />was moved by Tlr. Sloan, seconded by Mr. Hardman, that this. appointment <br />be confirmed.,.. . <br />Roll Call: Ayes- 1tlessrs Hardman, Sloan, Cass and Reiss. <br />Nays - Noce ~, . <br />IJlotion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed. <br />Chief Porter then repox°ted that the Lake Erie Fire Assn <br />is conducting a school for volunteer firemen and that it would cost <br />X15.00. He said that the Firemen had the money to defray this expense <br />and were going to attend the school. <br />Mr. Reiss introduced Ordinance No. 315-P entitled " An <br />Ordinance to Pay Certain Bills", which ordinance was read to the <br />Councils It was moved by_ Mr. Feiss, seconded by Mrs. Cass, that this <br />Ordinance b® passed as read® <br />Roll Call; Ayes- Iv7essrs Hardman, Sloan, Cass and Reiss <br />_ Nays -None. . <br />4, <br />
