1 <br />Fir Chief Nelson Porter called the attention of Council to the <br />fact that for the past 8 years the fir`eme~, "have had the use of town half. <br />on Thursday nights and pointed out that the Kiwanis Club and Carol Powell8s <br />dancing class have recently been authorized to use the hall at times which <br />interfered vrith the firemenps activities. Mayor Swansoli said that he would <br />arrange for the unobstructed use of the hall by the firemen. <br />' ~" Mr. Wieland complained concerning the use of resin by the dancing <br />class and stated that the floors of the main room were being gouged by the <br />dancers. He pointed out that the Grange had spent many hours in perfecting <br />these floors for social dancing and advised that they were being ruined for <br />that use by the' dancing class. Mrs. Otis addressed Council and stated that <br />she was sure the Grange would not object to refinishing the floors where <br />they are used by Hayfield's little children and said that she would take <br />this up with the Grange. <br />Fire ~Chiof Nelson Porter requested the appointment of Harold <br />Yanik to the Fire Dep artment. Mayor Swanson made the appointment, whereupon <br />it was moved by Mr. Godfrey, seconded by Mr. Hall, that the appointment be <br />confirmed. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes - Hardman, Taylor, Godfrey, Cass and Hall. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Mr. Rogors addressed Council and requested that the Village be <br />posted against hunting.
