It was moved by Dr. 'Maltz, seconded by ~r~. Endress, that Ordinance <br />AIo. Za.26 be passed as read. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - tiYaltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass and Oatess. <br />Alays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed. <br />Mayor Swanson read a letter from the Regional Planning Commission, <br />itemizing the statement of services rendered during the year 1952. <br />Dr. Siplock was again recognized by Council. He asked if Council <br />felt there was any section of the Village which should be planned immediately. <br />Council felt it would be better for the Committee to recommend-a.ny futuxe <br />areas for planning. <br />Mayor Svranson reported on the Safety and Service Committee meeting <br />held on January 12, 19530 <br />The matter of a contract with Joseph C. Kessler for servicing the <br />police and fire equipment was considered. This service v-~uld be an <br />increased amount in opera.ting.expense; -however it would mean better <br />service, and discount on parts, No action was taken and the matter is <br />still under consideration. <br />The Committee .reviewed the letter received from Pdr. and Mfrs. Thrush <br />regarding the parking situation on their tree lawn at Glenview and S.O.fl~R. <br />Roads. The Committee recommended that six No Parking-Signs be purchased, <br />two to be put on each street, i.e. Bonnieview, Glenview, Seneca. The <br />committee was also in favor of placing signs on these three streets <br />prohibiting parking day or night. Twelve signs would be necessary, four <br />for each street. <br />ll~. Scheuring entered the meeting. <br />It ,was moved by Mr. Endress, seconded by Dr. Waltz, that these <br />necessary signs be purchased and installed at the designated places. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Scheuring, Cass & Oatess. <br />D?ays - None® <br />Motion Carried <br />The Committee also recommended that the maximum hours of Special <br />Police be increased from 125 to 175 hours per month, and that a second <br />policeman for special duty be appointed in order to relieve the Service <br />Director of Police duty, and to help out in case of sickness, <br />Dr. Waltz introduced Ordinance No, i~27 entitled: "An Ordinance <br />to Amend Sections 2 and 3.of Ordinance No. 102, regarding Appointment, <br />Tenure and Compensation of the Marshall and Chief of Police and Special <br />Policemen's s <br />2. <br />
