Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />I~dr. Fisher presented to Council the plot of Thornapple Drive <br />development for layout approval. This layout has previously bey approved, <br />but the roadway has now been changed to the rear of the lake for easier <br />access to several of the properties. <br />Council studied the layout, and it was then moved by Mr. Endress, <br />seconded by Mrs. Cass, that the layout be approved in principle. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr. Endress reported on several matters discussed at the last <br />meeting of the Safety Committee. <br />Mr. Donald Gould has applied for the position of part-time police <br />to replace William Doremus who resigned a short time ago. <br />The Committee recommended that he be appointed to this position. <br />Mayor Swanson made the appointment of Mr. Donald Gould as special policeman. <br />It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mr. Sloan, that the <br />appointment of Imo. Gould be confirmed. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Mr. Donald Gould wa,s then sworn into office by Mr. Arnold M. Edelman, <br />a Notary Public. <br />The Service Department has requested the approval of the purchase <br />of six red flares, priced at X2.80 each, and also six posts for signs, priced <br />at ?~2.l~0 each. The Safety Committee recommended that Council approve this <br />request. <br />It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mr. Oatess, that the <br />Service Department purchase .the required equipment. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr. Sloan asked Mr. Edelman to check into the matter of a required <br />distance from a chiclcen poop to another person°s property or residence, <br />There has apparently been some complaint about-a situation of this sort, and <br />.interested parties would ]a.ke some information regarding the same. <br />3. <br />
