_ Minutes os" t.he Regular Meeting <br />, March 16, 1959 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayiield met in regular meeting at the - <br />TotiJn Hall at 8:00 P. M., Mayor Endress presiding. <br />Ro11 Call: Present - NIessrs Taylor9Wedler,Strater9Brown,Zorn & Hopkins. <br />Absent - None. - <br />The Minutes of the Regular Nleeting of Februarry 16, 1959, were then read <br />to the Council. It was moved by Mrs. Brown, -seconded by.Mre Zorn, that the <br />minutes of the regular meeting be approved and passed as read. - <br />Rol1 Call: Ayes - Messrs Taylor,?^,iedler9Strater,Brown,Zorn & Hopkins. <br />Nay s - None, - <br />Motion carried <br />Minutes approved. <br />Mayor Endress then asked if anything had been done with refer-ence to the <br />Gabriel Construction Companye Mr. Edelman said that he had nothing to report. <br />Y'r. Edel.man then gave a repor-t on the findings of a meeting held in <br />Lyndhurs-t on February 27th about the Quigley Dump. Representatives from all <br />the Municipalities were present a t this meeting, Nr. Eclelman explained that <br />there had been a lawsuit and an injunction obtained prohibiting the Quigleys <br />from burning af ter June lst, 1 959; that land-fill would be allowed, but with <br />23 municipalities parti.cipating, this would soon use ug the available space and <br />-there would be nothing for future use. Nir. Edelman said the Quigleys were <br />plaruing to erect an incinerator, but, as the cost was high, they wauld have. <br />to have a ten year contract from each municipality to make it feasibleo The <br />cost would be about $4.00 per ton on an estimated basiso There was a great <br />deal o: discussion in Council on this, with various unanswered questions such <br />as how the weight of a load could be estimated and the fact that provisions <br />would have to be made to stabilize the rate before a ten year contract could <br />be considered. It was suggested that if possible, we should have our trucks <br />weighed f or •the next few loads to see.how they were running. Mayor Endress <br />then brought up the fact that Mro Goetz had been contactEd with the idea of <br />using the ravine on -his property for our dumping purposes and spoke of the <br />necessi-ty-of putting in culvert pipes if permission could be obtained. <br />Reports from tYie committees: : -- <br />11rs. Brot•m, reporting for the Arehitectural Board, said that they had <br />met on-Thursday night and considered one addition. PZrs. Brmm said that she <br />had been in touch with llr.
