Hopkins spoke of the dilapidated condition of the floor.s and offices and <br />said that it was impossible toamop because of water leaking into the basement <br />area and damaging things there. Mr. Hopkins then spoke of several contacts <br />he had made on materials and prices, 2'here was considerable discussion on <br />the choice of vinyl or asphalt tile. As there was a_loti,r ebb in village . <br />finances, this was tabled for further considerati.on. Mr. Hopkins then spoke <br />of the Fire Station doorsand recommended that we d.o one door at a time. This <br />would cost around $100.00 per door.. Strater, reporting for the Safety Committee, spoke of obtaining a <br />contract for washing the police cars. Mro Strater said with a contract we could <br />save money and explained that the contract cost was $75000 per year for which <br />we could have the police car washed as many times as needed - that that our <br />present cost per car was slightly more than this contract cost, Mr. Stra-ter <br />went on to say that.our cars could be kept in better condition and less time <br />talzen out of service for this job; that the Safety Cormnittee reeommended <br />obtaining contracts for both cars. <br />Mr. Edelman t•hen read a contract which he had prepared for this service. <br />rilr. Ro;ers questioned the advisability of having a contract for both cars as <br />one usually was on the road while the other sat around. Mro Shortle said that <br />both cars had to be washed. Mr. Strater, seconded by Nrs. Brotm, then introduced Ordinance iVo.655 <br />entitled: otAn Ordinance Approv.I.ng an Agreement for the Washing of Vehicles of <br />the Police Depar-tment of the Village of Mayfieldt'. tihich ordinance was read <br />to Councilo , <br />Zt -vas moved by Mr. Hopkins, seconded by Mr. Taylor, that the rules of <br />law requiring an oreiinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspendeda <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Taylor,Wedler9S trater,Brown'Zorn & Hopkins. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />. .
