Mirru.tes of t,he Regular Meeting <br />- June 15, 1959 <br />The Council of the Vil.lage of Mayfield met in open meeting at the Town <br />Hall at 8:00 P.M., Mayor Endress presiding. , <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs. Zorn,Wedler9S trater,Brawn,Grootegood & Hopkins. <br />Absent - Nonee The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 18, 1959, were then read to <br />Council. It was moved by Nrs. Browm, seconded by Mr. Hopkins, that the Minutes <br />of the Regular Meeting be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrso Zorn,Wedler,S trater,Brown,Grootegood & Hopkins. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Minutes approved <br />Mayor Eridress then reported on a letter from the City of Clevelard giving <br />us a breakdown on the cost to each municipality relative to the expert hired to <br />ana].yze the East Ohio Gas Rate application. Tliey submitted a sample resolution, <br />but noted that it had been passed by the Village of Mayfielde <br />Mayor Endress then asked for reports f rom the Committees. Mrs. Brown, <br />- reporting for. the Architectnral Board, said that they had exarained two set.s of <br />house plans. Mrs. Brown also said that she was w aiting for a meeting with <br />Mrs. Bardou on the Welfare Committee; that she had called Nlrs.-Bardou last week; <br />. that her plans were all set up arnl ti,rere going through. There was considerable <br />discussion in Council over the fact that the Welfare Committee had not been con- <br />sulted. Mayor Endress said that, as we appropriate a certain sum of money, the <br />committee should have something to say about the plansa Mrs. Brown said that <br />the recreation committee should at least be made aware of the wishes of the welfare <br />board. Mayor Endress then advised that a meeting should be set up with oixr° board <br />and the o•thers invited to come--inm <br />-- Mr. Hopkins? reporting for the 130ilding Gommittee, said that the Fire <br />Depar,tment had offered thei.r services if the Village would buy the paint to paint <br />the fire station. It was thought that three or four gallons would do the job for <br />about $20.00. It was then moved by Mr. Hopkins, seconded by ?Mr, S trater, that <br />$25.00 be appropriated for painting the fire station. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes - Messx^s. Zox°n,TnTed].er,Stz°atea°'Brown,Grootegood & Hopkinso <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carriecl <br />Aqro Strater' reporting for the Safety Committee? said that they had on1,q <br />the bids for a new policecar to consider: Three bids were received: Keith Weigle <br />Motors Inc. for $1,863,89; Euclid Ford for $19430.26 and Reynolds Ford for <br />$1,417.00e There was a great deal of.discussion 3n-Council over the l.-Zt two <br />bids and some disappointment. Inasmuch as Council was to award a bid to the <br />lotiest and best bidder, it was argued that with the slight difference bettTeen <br />-l.
