<br />Mayor Endress then askea for reports from the Committees. Mrs. Brown, <br />reporting for the Arthitectural Board, said that the Board had held three <br />meetings and approved 13 homes and 7 additions. Mrs. Brown then said that <br />they had gone $31.10 in the hole on the Officialst Ficnic. Mrs. Brown was <br />then told to get together.with Council after the meeting and collect for <br />the deficit, Ma,yor Endress then thanked Mrs. Brown for her efforts in <br />making it a successful picnic. <br />Mr. Hopkins, reporting for the Building C-ormnittee, said that they had <br />nothing to report and "remarked that the new chairs in the Town Ha1.1 were the <br />resU]..t of Home Day. Ma,yor Endress said that we certainl,y owed this group a <br />great many. thanks. <br />Mr."Brichacek, the chairman last year, was then asked about the ehairso <br />Mro Brichacek said that the chairs were the result of going back to 1955; <br />that over the years the funds were guarded so that something cauld be done <br />for the village hall; that they had a chance to get rid of the old chairs by <br />selling them and.then formaZly presented the new chairs to the Village of <br />Mayfield. Mayor Endress again thanked the Committee for such worth-while <br />tho"v.ghts and said that the village had certainly needed the chairs. <br />Mr. Strater9 reporting for the Safety Committee9 said that' all <br />matters handled by his committee had been turned over to the Finance Committee <br />for action. - <br />Mr. Wedler, reporting f.or the Finance Commi.ttee, said that they had a <br />short meeting, but had to pobtpone any action u.ntil funds from the Auditor's <br />Office were available. <br />Mr. Wedler then reported for the 1'lanning and Zoning Commission, saying <br />that they had met on September l, 1959, and read the mirnites of this` meeting <br />to Council.° Mr. Wedler then presented a"recommendation that fi,he Zoning <br />Ordinance be amended so as to change the set-back on our main streets to 50 <br />feet from the property line. Mrm'Edelman said that he had received a letter <br />from Mr. 'Reed on changes in various uses and would"contact him and have them_ <br />all ironed out fbr tkie next Council meeting. Mr. Edelrnan said that it wouZd <br />be advisable to get as much into the ordinanee as possible with the one <br />open meEting to save advertising costs, Mayor Endress then asked if Mr. Wieland had given Mr. Edelman the <br />list of leaking fire pl.ugs. Mr. tniieland said not yeto <br />" Mayor Endress then gave a detailed report of his attendance at,the <br />Municipal League Convention in A.krona 'Mayor Endress said that their at•tend- <br />ance was the greatest ever and a great deal was aecomplished; that he <br />appreciated the faot that he was'there.' In comtnenting, Mr. Endress sa3d that <br />a great many villages were in trouble beeause of bad clerks and bad solicitors; <br />that without exception they were looking for ways and means of securing more <br />money. <br />20
