There was not,hing to report from the Building Committee. <br />. <br />Mr. hTedler, reporting,for the Finance Committee, s aid that they had <br />met on November 30 and went over the probleins of the Building Inspector. Mr. <br />TrPedler then read the minutes to Council and said that the Safety and Service <br />Committee and Finance Committee recommended a change in tYie .fees of the <br />Building?Inspectoro This was brought about by the demands made on ttie _ <br />Building Tnspector to return innumerable times to inspect -i%Tork that had 'not <br />passed. Mr. Edelman had prepared an ordinance as recommended by the I'inance <br />Committee and read this ordinance to Council. ? <br />Mr. Wedler'_seconded by Mr. S trater? then introduced Ordinance No. 679 <br />entitled: sfAn Ordinanee to Amend Ordinance No. 475, as amended by Ordi.nances <br />Nos. 493 and RTO. 641, by adding sec-tion 1(a) providing for inspection fees9« <br />which ordinance was read to Council. ' It was moved by Mrs. Brown9 seconded by Mr. GPOO-tegoed, that"the rules <br />of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Ro11. Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler9Strater,BrowniGrootegoed & Hopkins. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motian carried <br />Rules suspended. <br />It was moved by Mr. Hopkins, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that Ordinance No. 679 <br />be approved and passed as read. <br />Ro11 Call: A,yes - Messrs Zorri9Wedler,S•trater,Brown,Grootegoed & Hopkins. <br />Tdays - Nonem <br />- - Motion carried <br />Ordinance passed. <br />Mr. S trater, reporting for the Safety and Servlce Comnittee' said that9 <br />acting under authority of the Finance Committee, the Safety and Service Committee <br />h.ad drawn up specifications for a new -truck far the Service Department and <br />recommended that Council advertise for bids. <br />It was then moved by Mr. Hopkins, seconded by-+'Irs. Brown, that bids be <br />taken for a new service truck' as per specifications drawn. <br />Roll Call: .A.yes - Messrs 'Zorn,Wedler9S trater,Brown9Grootegoed & .Hopkins. <br />Nays ? Noneo <br />° Motion carriedo <br />° Mr. Strater then reported-:i:hat, along with the' new truck, a cinder <br />spreader would be necessary, which would cost under $19000.00 and recommended <br />that Council buy this spreader. Mrs Strater then remarked that the old snow <br />plow would have to be put on the new tmuclco <br />2,
