NIr. Edelman
then read these bids to Council. NIayor Endress then asked I4r. Grootegoed to
take these bids up with the Safety Committee and study them carefully, the
Safety Committee to make recommendations to Council at its next meeting.
As there were a Iarge number of people from the Wilson Mills area
present, Mayor Endress asked if some one would speak on the subject of
obtaining land f or the widening of Wilson Mills Road. One of the residents
then said that there was so much confusion over the.obtaining of this land by
the County that he did not understand what was going on. Some people had
been contacted by 'phone and practically threatened if they did not agree with
the County's proposal. Others had been given ridiculous dead-lines and others
had not been contacted at all. Some had received notices stuf£ed into their
mail boxes and it was assumed that the f ailure of some to receive any was due
to the postman's disposing of the material because it was put into the box
without going through the post off ice. In every case the residents were
offered much less than the Highland Heights people received, the explanation
being that as the Federal Government was handling our end of thz widening and
that this was all that they would allow the County to offera
1.
