Mr. Bennett, reporting for the Building Committee, stated that he was
<br />ttill looking for more volunteers for the painting party to be held at,the
<br />Town Hall this Saturday. The Community Club has volunteered to serve
<br />refreshments to the volunteers. One coat of pain? is to be applied now, with
<br />caulking, the second coat to be applied in the Spring.
<br />Mr. Wedler, seconded liy Mr. Belzer, offered a Resolution to the effect
<br />that a ditch be.dug on the East side of the To?an Hall, with catch basins, to
<br />catch the water from downspouts, at an approximate cost of $300s00,

<br />rules of law requiring this resolution to be read on thre2 separate occasions
<br />be suspended. .

<br />Mr. Bennett reported_that the steps of the Town Hall will soon be
<br />repaired caithout.any e?cpense to the Village.
<br />Mr: Grootegoed, reporting for the Safety S: Sexvice Committee, read
<br />the minutes of its last meetinggr. The Committee recommended that, beginning
<br />with November 1, 1960, all new dwelling houses constructed in the Village
<br />must have'either incinerators or disposers. The Solicitor was,instructed
<br />to prepare such an ordinance. -
<br />Mayor Endress,,in accordance with the recommendation of the Safety &
<br />Service Committee, then proclaimed the week of October 7, 1960, as Fire
<br />Prevention Week. It was moved by Mrs. Brown,seeonded by D4r. Grootegoed, that
<br />Council approve the purchase of National Fire Prevention literature. All
<br />Couneilmen voted in favor of this Motion. :

<br />Council approve the recommendation of the Safety & Service Committee to
<br />purchase one Champion Fire Pump ( manufactured by Spray Co.,Detroit,Michigan)
<br />at an appro:cimate cost oF $38050 and parts for one Indign Fi:re Pump, manu-
<br />f actured by D. B. Smith Co., Utica, New York, at a cost of approximately $25e00.
