Mrs. Brown, seconded-by Mr. Belzer, then introduced Resolution No. 507 <br />entitled: "A Resolution Authorizing Substitution of Securities", which <br />resolution was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Wedler, that the rules of <br />law requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, that Resolution <br />No. 507 be approved and passed as read. <br />. Motion carried - <br />Resolutioa Passed <br />Mayor Endress then read the terms of the new contract which the East <br />Ohio Gas had asked us to approve and talked to Couneil about a meeting with the <br />Nlayors° Association and then read a letter f rom the City of Cleveland aslcing <br />us to join in a common cause with other communities in f ighting this rate - <br />increase and make no commitments singly. <br />The East Ohio Gas Company having asked f or approval of plans covering <br />the proposed reconstruction of gas main between sidewalk and curb on the East <br />side of Beech Hill road, over storm sewer South of Seneca, as indicated in <br />red on their print of Drawing No. D-6859, dated NovemUer 21, 1957, Revised <br />September 8, 1959, it was-moved,by Mr. Belzer,.seconded by Vr. Grootegoed <br />that permission be granted. , . - <br />Roll Gall: Ay.es.- Messrs.Zorn;Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. . <br />Motiott carried <br />. Council having asked our Engineer to prepare an Estimate of the cost of <br />sidewalks on all County and State Roads'in the Village, Mr. Peterson gave a <br />report:,that was:astsonomical and f rightening. Mr, Peterson.said that he had <br />kept the cost of the estimate high due to the f act that the condition of the <br />grades and other things on some of our roads would raise the figures way above <br />normal. This was much too high f or Council to consider and it was thought <br />that something might get started if property owners were urged to put in their <br />own sidewalkso There was a great deal of discussion.on this,matter.and..some <br />concern due to the danger to pedestrians and children. Mayor Endress asked <br />Council to give this some more thought and talk on it again at the next meeting. <br />NIr. Zorn asked .that ;=the Saf ety : and Service Committee take up this matter again. <br />Mr. Grootegoed suggested that we get the names of.property owners on Lander <br />Road and see how they felt about the matter. <br />4.
