Mr. Grootegoed then reported on the Sidewalk Survey and said that and <br />found 14. in favor_ of sidewalks on Lander Road, but not uniil a seuTer had been <br />constructed. Twelve no's were.received out of 26 called on Wilson M ills and <br />the Church and Town Hall would be questionable, as they had large frontagesa <br />Mr. Grootegoed said that very €ew on SOM Road wera interested until they knew <br />where the road was going to be placed. Mayor Endress complimented Mr. <br />Grootegoed on his excellent job and said we should follow through on this and <br />that he would contact Mayos Barris and get his reactions. <br />Mr. Zorn, reporting for the Finance Committee, said that all bills were <br />checked and found to be eorrect'and recommended that the pay'ordiir.ance be <br />passed. It was then moved by Mr. Zorn, seconded by Mro Wedler, that Pay <br />Ordinance No. 457-P be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Tnledler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzero <br />Nays - Noneo <br />Motion carried <br />Pay Ordinance Passed <br />Mr, Wedler, reposting f or the Planning and Zoning Commission9 said that <br />they had met last M onday as a Board of Appeals to consider the Wiesberg <br />project and, as this was post.poned, the Zoning and Planning Board met to <br />consider the request of Mr. Meyers for re-zoning on SOM Road. It was the <br />decision of this board to try and wait until a quicky report could be received <br />from the Regional Planning Board on a part of the Niaster Plan. The Weisberg <br />project was then considered and a date was set for the 2nd Monday of next <br />month to consider the postponement. Mr. Wedler said that they had received <br />a letter f rom the Regional Plan, saying that they would take up all'our <br />present plans and give-us tlieir idea on the subject for $250m00. 1Kr. Wedler <br />then read this letter. Mayor Endress then reported that we had applied for <br />Federal aid for the Master Plan and did not have to include our,check with <br />the application, Mrs. Brown said that all this planning took in the Freeway <br />Land and she did not think that a small project such as the body shop would <br />come into this picture and she did not see any reason why this project should <br />not be considered at'this time. <br />Mr. Benjam'in Reich, attorney for Mr. Meyers, then had a discussion <br />with Mr. Edelman and said that they could get a writ of Mandamus if Council <br />could not make up their minds and decide one way os anothere Mr. Reich <br />spoke of the hardship undergone by his client in this long delay andsaid that <br />consideration of thisproject had started long bafore the so-called master <br />plan came into the picture. Nirv Reich said that they had never.turned this <br />project down, but just kept f iddling around. Mr. Zorn then said that he did <br />not think that anyone in conncil was against this building, but did not want <br />to make any exceptions in view of our master plan. There was a great deal of <br />discussion on the matter between Council and Nir. Reich, who was thien prevailed <br />upon to wait.until some word could be received from the Regional Plane <br />Mr..Belzer, seconded by Mrso Brown, then introduced'Resolution No. 512 <br />entitled: "A Resolution to Accept the Proposal of the Regional Planning <br />Commission, dated August 29, 1961, to prepare interim plans and zoning <br />regulations at'a cost of approximately $250000" which sesolution was read <br />to Council. <br />2.
