Mayor Endress then read a letter ;from the Worton Park Assoeiation, thanking <br />the Village for the road improvements made in Worton Park, with special mention <br />to our Service and Police-Dapartments: - ' ' -- ' <br />Mayor Endress then read a letter'f rom?Anne Spisak; resigning as a school <br />guard. Mayor Endress remarked that not until,September 13th was he able to get <br />a decision from rirs. Spisak about .this job, which accounfied for Mr. Wieland's' <br />presence on the corner. Mayor Endress then read an application f rom Mr. Paul <br />P. Gibbons;-a retired,f ireman-f rom Cleveland, asking f or this position. Mayor <br />Endress then recommended that this'application be approved.- It was then - <br />moved by Mr. Grootegoed, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that the appointment of Mr. ' <br />Paul P. Plastine,=Secretaryof <br />the Police Relief and Pension Fund, saying that they had no reply to a letter <br />of • September 1960 and• asked-- for-.a- disposition- and- status of the= original <br />inquiry. There was a great deal of discussion in Council on this matter and <br />Mr. Plastine was,told that at the time of his f irst letter, Council had <br />planned to make a contribution to this fund but had been unable to find any <br />funds as of the present moment. The Clerk was then asked to write a letter <br />to the Pension Fund asking that they cotttact Council at their December meeting <br />and perhaps something cotald be done. Mr. Rogers then gave a short discourse. <br />on the status of this f und and the clerk pointed out that the law £orced us to <br />contribute heavily to the Public Employees Retirement System, but not to the <br />Police RelieE and Pension Fund. It was felt that the State would come up with <br />something in the near f uture that would take care of snch small pension funds <br />as this. <br />3.
