<br />D4inutes of the Regular Meeting <br />October 16, 1961 <br />The Council of the Village o£ Mayfield met 'in regular meeting at the <br />Town Hall at 8:00 P. M., Mayor Endress presidingm ` <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed and <br />Belzer, also Mr, Peterson, Engineer. <br />Absent - None. <br />The Minutes of the Regular P4eeting of September 18, 1961, were then read <br />to Council. It was moved by Nlra' Wedler, seconded by rirs. Brown, that the <br />Nlinutes of the regular meeting be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None, <br />AMotioncarried <br />Nlinutes approved <br />Nirs. Brown, rePorting f or the-Architectural Board, said that they had <br />met on September 28, 1961, and approved plans for 2 new homes, l addition and <br />2 new homes at the October 12th meeting. The Board also suggested-an ordinance <br />requiring a minimum oF two 8 x 12 flues in every neca house, plus one additional <br />flue if there was to be a f ireplace. Suggestions'iaere that"a separate 8 x 12 <br />flue be required for incinerator, hot water heater and furnace and a 12 x 12 <br />for tlie f ireplace. No checlc had been made af requirements in other municipalities. <br />Mrs. Brown was asked to have NIr. Dumont checlc on this and Niayor Endress appointed <br />Mrm Belzer and Mr. tiJieland as a committee to look into this matter. Mr. Wieland <br />said that the Regional Code called for just one 12 by 12 flue, which should be <br />able to handle everythinga A1r. Wieland said, however, that the flues were not always <br />in the proper place for good tise. Mr. Cof£ee suggested checking with the Gas <br />Company Engineers. Mayor Endress then asked for a report on this situation <br />for the next meeting. <br />NIr. Grootegoed, reporting for the Safety"and Service Committee, said <br />that Mr. Porter advised that all hose couplings o£ fire departments under the <br />mutual aid pact are standard, that they eontemplated purchasing f our hydrant <br />adapters to meet any emergency. Mr. Porter advised that he would be obliged <br />to accept, with regret, the resignation of A1 Goetz,,because of illness and <br />that tihere appeared to be no change in status of William Gura. Chief Shortle <br />then reported on certain violations of Ordinance #155 regulating fruit stands <br />and the Committee recommended that the Zoning and Planning Commission consider <br />the issues presented by this ordinance. The Committee also recommended that, <br />pending any action by the Zoning and Planning Commission, a letter be directed <br /> <br />1.
