After considerable de].iberation, Mre Strater, seconded by Mr. <br />Hopkinsa then introduaed Resolution No. 321 entitled9 "A Resolution Approving <br />for Record the Final. Pla.n of Proposed Kenwood Gardens Subdivision No. l <br />of Original k7ayfield Townshap Lot No. 46, Tract ly Submitted by Parkdale <br />Construetion Compary"., which resolution was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Mr. Swanson., seconded by Mre.Hoplsixis, that the rules <br />of law requi.ring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be <br />guspended. <br />Ro].1 Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Swanson., Strater, Brown, Fa1k & Hopkins. <br />Nays - None. Motion caxr:ied <br />- Rules suspended <br />. Tt was moved by Mxs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Hopkins., tha.t Resolut3.on <br />Nos 321 be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Swanson, Strater, Brown, Fa.1k & Hopkin4. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Resolution passeci <br />Tt was then moved by Mr. Hopkins, sec onded by Mr. swanson9 that the <br />preli.minary plans-for Kenwood Garden Subdivision Noa 2 be approved iri <br />principleo . . . <br />Roll Caua Ayes - Messrs Swanson, Strater., Brown, Falk &, Hopgsi.ns. <br />Nays - Noneo - <br />- - Motion carried <br />NIr. Strater, reporting for ths Safety and Service Committee, stated <br />that the Fire Department wishecl to pu.rchase a hand amplifier wl'dch was on <br />the market at the present t3meo This ampl.ifi.er, being portable and the <br />size of an orclinary trouble light, composect of mmikke, speaker, transister <br />amp].i.fier, and run on batteries, was capable of projecting the voice ovex° <br />great distances and had been demonstrated to the Fire Department and most <br />of the members of the Sa.fety and Servics Committee. "There is no doubt . <br />in my mind nor that of the Corrnnittee, that we need this", said Mr. $trater. <br />He then reported on the demons-tration which he had witnessed and spoke of <br />being at the Gates Mil].s f3.x^e o"TI-li.s was a demonstration of our. Fire <br />Departynent in action at a real nasty f3.re", reported Mro Strater...1°And <br />I was amazed and veny proud of the organization and efficiency of this department, and nevax° witnessed a dirtier nor wetter bunch of inen i.n <br />actions" It was then moved by Nre Fa.lk, seconded by Mr. Hopkins, tha.t <br />$100.00_be.appropriated for the purchase of this equi.pment. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes - Messrs S,ranson,Stra-ter, Brown, Falk and.
