Dixon saa.d that., although this was a good place for a range, he <br />had not rea]a.zed so man,y people had been annoyed, and 3f this was the case., <br />it should be di.scont3nued. <br />Mr. Strater said that he was zn sympathy with the people in this area <br />and had presented the petition to be circulated after receiving ca].ls from <br />the annoyed peop]me. He decried the fact that there couldn°t be some place <br />that a father could take his son to fanLiliarize h3m with the use of "firearms <br />and cited his own case wherein he Izad practica.l7°y blowm up his neighborhood <br />with his brother's gun, tht°ough lack of knaFrledge and an overween:ing <br />curiosity. ? <br />Mrs. Brown was aclamant i.n stating that 9 as 75 per eent -of the residents <br />were against the range, it should be cliscontintxed at once. <br />Mr. Swanson,-seconded by Mr. Hopkins, then introduced Ordinance #535 <br />entitleds "An Ordinance Prohibiting the I3ischarge of Firearms Within the <br />Vil].age Limits, and Repealing Ordinance Noo 524", which orcLznance was read <br />to Council. As thes°e was <br />no second to this motion, 4rdinance No. 535 was placed on its first reading. <br />Mr. Oatess, representing the Architectur°a1. Board, asked our Solicitor <br />for a clarification of the Building Code with reference to prefab houses. <br />Mre.
