October 15, 1956, Nlayor Endress presiding. <br />Ro1l Ca1.1.: Present - Messr°s Taylor, Wedler, Strater, Brown, Falk <br />_ - - and Hopkins. - <br />Absent - Nonee <br />The Minutes 'of the Regu].ar Meetix:g of september 17, 1956, were then <br />read to Councilo It was moved by Mrsm Brown9 seconded by Kro strater9 that <br />the.Ninutes of the.regul.ar meeting be approved and passed as read. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes - Messrs Taylor9 Wedler,strates°'Brown'Fa.lk & Hoplans. <br />Nays - None. - <br />Motion carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />The Minutes of the special Meeting of September 24, i9569 were then read to Council. It was moved by 4r. Taylor9 seconded by Mr. Strater, tha,t <br />theminutes of the special meeting be appraved and passed as read, <br />?- -. Ro].1. Cal1: Aares - Messrs Taylor,Wedler,Strater9Brown,Falk & Hoplfl.ns. <br />I'lays - None. - <br />Motion carried <br />Mi.n.utes• approved <br />Ma,yar Endress then asked for reports fxom the Cargnit-teeso . <br />The Firiance Committee ha.d nothing to report. . > <br />Mr. Hopkitis, reporting for the Bui,lding Comm3.ticee, said that his <br />committee had had a meeting with Mre Weisberg, with hi.mse7.f, Mrso Brown and <br />kZr. rall{ present, and cliscussed the possibility of purchasing the Weisberg Bax•n <br />and the property around the barn as a Town Ha.llo I'2r. Weisberg sgoke of a <br />starting price of around $157,000.00. This.was without the small.house. . <br />Mrm Weisberg said that?- without the realtor fee;'it would be around $150.,000000. <br />rire Hoplins talked of $I25,000.00 and sai.d that we cou].d get together tiai.th <br />the realtor. At the same Ume, iqr. Hopkans h.a.d secured approxianate costs of <br />$239000.00 for heating insta].lation and $10,000.00 to build a jail. These Vrere? - <br />the on7.,y figures obtainable f.or this meetinge Yir. Ede7xna.n said that this could <br />be hand].ed by genera7o obligation bonds, but only up to abotzt $112,000000. This <br />was discussed at great length by Council, together with the proposition offered <br />the Roller Rink people, and Mra Fa]k suggested that perha.ps we could get the <br />barn and lease the rest of the pr.operty for $1.00 per year. MS°. Edelm.an said <br />that -this could legally be donee* Ma.yor Endress then appointed a committee of <br />aI1 the Council, which would include the Finance, the Safety and Serrice, the <br />Buil.ding Comina.ttee, Mr. Reed to represent _the Zoning and pl,aauzing_ commission2 <br />and Mr. Oatess, to represent the Architectural, Board, to investigate this <br />proposaZ.
