Our Engineer was asked about ditches and the effect on roads, and Mr0 <br />DelZore said that he advocated ditches on all macadam roads. Mre Strater said <br />tha.t, inasmuch as we were going to put in improvements farther up and the <br />road would be torn up, it would be better to just go ahead and resurface the <br />road. <br />Mr. Wedler, seconded by lqr. Stra-ter, then introduced CLrdinance Nov 556 <br />entitled: "An Ordinance Authorizing thp Niayor and Clerk of the gillage of <br />Mayfield, to Enter Into an .Agreement With the Nosthexn Ohio Paving Company for <br />the Patchuzg and Surface Treatment of Part of Zdorton Park Drive" which <br />ordinance was read to council. Strater then asked about Bonnieview, Seneca, and Glenview, and <br />Mra Z^Iieland said th,at most of the trouble on these roads was due to the sewer, <br />but he had spoken for a road grader and it should be here shortly to fix up . <br />these streets. <br />N1r. Robley, wno was present., then spoke of the money he had put in <br />escrow in the Socie-ty for Savings in lieu of a bond when starting the Roblef <br />Lane Subdivision and expla.ined that all the 'mprovements were in except the <br />paving. He ha.d a contract for the paving fo.r $14,000.00 arid ha.d paid <br />$7,475.00_of this and still owed a like amount. His fund in escrow amounted <br />to $192000o00 an.d he wished to have all released but the -07,457.00 owred for <br />paving, There was a great deal of discussion on this matter, wi.th our <br />Engineer not in favor of such a procedure, as it put the matter on a pay-as- <br />you-go basis and not as money in lieu of bond. Thi.s matter tiras finally 7nft <br />to the Engineer and our Solicitor to wor.k out something acceptable to Council. <br />Ma.yor Endress then read a letter from Harry L. Patterson, dated <br />September l, 1956, resigning from the Fire Departinent.
