Nays - None. _ Miotion caz°ried Minutes approved NJayor Endress then asked for a report on the px°oposed Freeway and read to Counci7o a leti;er from Mayfield Heights, containiro their -answex to a proposed ox°dinance of consent from the Ohio 17apartment of Highways. rlr. Fa7.k thought there was a lot of truth- an the answer submitted by hayfield Heights and said that, such a Freeway would be a mi.suse of publa.c funds. After consider- aUle discussion of the matter, X.r. Falk9 seconded by 4r. Hopk3ns, introduced Resolution No. 364 entitled: !1A: Resolution Requesting Further Study of the Location of the Proposed Freeway from the Pentisylvania Line to Ohio Turnpi.ke No. 1 and Recommend:ing that the Geauga Coun-ty Route be Adopted", which resolution was read -to Council. I't was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded by N'.r. T+dedler, that the rules of law requiring a resolution to be read on thx°ee separate occasions be suspended. Na?rs - None. - - Motion caxried Resolution passed I+layor Endrass then asked that the bids on the new fire apparatus be read to Council. A bid from American La France was received for a new fire engine fox° $10,700.00. One £ram The Bean.Ma.nufacturing Company for $10,295.00 and one from the Horae Fire Apparatus for $9s700.00 and an alternate bid with a centrigufal pump for $8.,700.00. A bid from the Heights Motors was received for a cha.ssis for this apparatus for $4,266.70, but this bid was not fi]Jed on time. It was.brought out by Council that the bid from the Howe Fire Apparatus did not meet our specificatioris as the pumps were manufactured iri separate locations. , Mr, Falk said that it was his opinion that these bids should be turned over to _the Safety Committee fox° study befora beirtg considered by Council. It was then moved by Mr. Falk, seconded by Mrs. Bratim, that these bids Ue x°eferred to -the -Safety Cqmmittee for study and action be deferred to the January meetir_g.
