Nays - None. _ <br />Miotion caz°ried <br />Minutes approved <br />NJayor Endress then asked for a report on the px°oposed Freeway and <br />read to Counci7o a leti;er from Mayfield Heights, containiro their -answex to a <br />proposed ox°dinance of consent from the Ohio 17apartment of Highways. rlr. Fa7.k <br />thought there was a lot of truth- an the answer submitted by hayfield Heights <br />and said that, such a Freeway would be a mi.suse of publa.c funds. After consider- <br />aUle discussion of the matter, X.r. Falk9 seconded by 4r. Hopk3ns, introduced <br />Resolution No. 364 entitled: !1A: Resolution Requesting Further Study of the <br />Location of the Proposed Freeway from the Pentisylvania Line to Ohio Turnpi.ke <br />No. 1 and Recommend:ing that the Geauga Coun-ty Route be Adopted", which <br />resolution was read -to Council. A bid from American La France was received for a new fire <br />engine fox° $10,700.00. One £ram The Bean.Ma.nufacturing Company for $10,295.00 <br />and one from the Horae Fire Apparatus for $9s700.00 and an alternate bid with a <br />centrigufal pump for $8.,700.00. A bid from the Heights Motors was received <br />for a cha.ssis for this apparatus for $4,266.70, but this bid was not fi]Jed <br />on time. It was.brought out by Council that the bid from the Howe Fire <br />Apparatus did not meet our specificatioris as the pumps were manufactured iri <br />separate locations. , <br />Mr, Falk said that it was his opinion that these bids should be <br />turned over to _the Safety Committee fox° study befora beirtg considered by <br />Council.
