Mrs.Brown <br />said that she had nothing to report fro:n the Welfare Committee or the <br />Architectural Board.. <br />Mr. Hopkins, reporting for the 3uilding Committee, said that pa3.nt had <br />authorized for the Leslie property, tinzt none had been obtained. It then <br />developed that the exact kind of paint was not lmotisn and everyone assumed that <br />someone else vaas going to do it. Mr. Dunbar was then asked to,get in-touch <br />ti,rith. Mr. Wieland and secure the pain'u, Mr. Hopkins said that a meeting had <br />been scheduled and some work was necessary on the Fire S-tation Doors and then <br />aslced permission to put tortion bars on these doors9 as too much time was, <br />lost in open_i.ng them. An estima-ce of $150.00 was obtained for this work. <br />Mr. Hop1-.rs then asked for an opinion from Council. <br />j Mayor Endress said that he saw no sense in paying for labor charges <br />on this work, which would be $la.2,009 but it developed that this was a. <br />specialized job and took skilled labor. Chief Porter ifas asked hois long it <br />took him to get :to the F.i.re Truck, and he said on1.y seconds, but then had to <br />wait for the doors to be opened. Mr. Taylor said that the finance committee o <br />would give a report on this.later and the matter was aslced to Ym tabl.ed until <br />we receive our tax money.. <br /> <br />been <br /> <br />Mr. Strater, reportino .for t11e Safety and Service Corrmittee, said <br />that they had spent all evening going over a s-rnrning pool ordinance -turned <br />over to them with recomrnendations f`rom the Zoning and Planning Comrnittee. Mr. <br />Strater said that the Committee had taken E.i.c]id's Ordinance, which was the <br />most recent of al1 swisnming pool ordinances, and as carnplete as ary'Lhing <br />considered-and : ineorporated into it same things applicable -to our Vi1l.age <br />and in line iTith views of both Committees. This ordinance had been turned over <br />to Mr. Edelman, who theri read it to Council. This Ordinance was then thoroughly <br />discussed by Council; picked, apa-rt and exami.ned from every angle., crhecka.ng <br />with our Engineer and Solicitor as to its scope arxi 1.egality. 14r, Strater, <br />seconcl.ed by Mrs. Brown, then introduced Ordinance No. 623 entitleds '?An <br />Ordinance Setluing up Certain Requirements for Sti,ri.mning Pools, Providing <br />Regulations f or.the Use and Ownership of Such Appurtenances and Prescribing <br />Penalties for Violations", which ordinance was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Mr. Ta,ylor' seconded by Mro.Hopki.ns, that the rul.es <br />of law requir3.ng an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be <br />suspended. <br /> <br />2.
