TZayor Endress said that, because of t he fact that we were Spending <br />more each year in throwing slag,into.the street, biling, and repairing the <br />ditches, and in general just keeping it passable, than it would cQst to have <br />it-paved, Council had felt that this would be good business proposition. <br />Mayor Endress then poini.ed out that our road funds were so low that we were <br />in danger of not being able to plow snoUr or do any?Uiing at all next year and, <br />with no future funds in sight, it was necessary to7 overcome this hazard by <br />paving. There was again a great deal of discussion on the permanency of <br />such a paving, and_, while our engineer said that na guarantee could be <br />obtained from any contractor, this sort of pavement existed in other localities <br />and had stood up for years t,rith minor expense. There was some exception <br />takeri Uy th,e audience over $96.00 worth of slag put on Beechhill, Urhich it <br />was contended should have been an expense to TZr. Belzer on the Beechhill water <br />linem <br />The Finance Committee having approved -the Pay Ordinancej it was <br />moved by Aira Taylor_, seconded by Pir.
