Edelman then reported that the last meeting Council had'authorized <br />the sale of two,sets of bonds; that he now f ound that we did npt need that <br />much and recommended repeal of Ordinance No. 876 which provided f or general <br />obligation bonds for water mains, <br />Mr. Edelman said that, if it was necessa.ry, we raise some money on notes. <br />Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Belzer, then introduced Ordinance No. 877 <br />entitled: "An Ordinance Repealing Ordinance No. 87611, which ordinance was <br />read to Council. . <br />It was moved by Mr. Belzer, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that the rules of law <br />requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Roll Call; Ayes - Messrs Shaw,Bennett,Walker,Mason,Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. , <br />Nlotion carried <br />, Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mr. Shaw,.seconded by Mr. Belzer, that Ordin`ance No.877 <br />1 <br />be approved and passed as read. . <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Me.ssrs Shaw,, Bennett,Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer, <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Orciinance Passed <br />Mr. Belzei?, reporting f or the Safety and Service Committee, said that <br />they had met an February 1, 1965; that Mr. Wieland had brought up the matter <br />of the terrible condition of the Service Wagon; that it was costing us as <br />much in repairs as the car,was worth and it looked as though these repair <br />bills would go on. The Safety Committee recommended that the Service Department <br />take the Police'Car and.get a new one for the Police Department, as they <br />used a car so much. Mr. Belzer also reported that Chie£ S5ortle had asiced <br />the Committee to study:an ordinance f or Suspicious.Persons and to have Mr. <br />Edelman draw up this ordinance and present it to Council. , <br />Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Belzer, then introduced Ordinance-No. 878, <br />entitled; "An Ordin.ance Creating the Offense of Being a Suspicious Person <br />and Prescribing a Penalty Therefor", which ordinance was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Mr. Sloan, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that the ruTes of <br />law requiring an.ordinance to be, read on three separate occasions be <br />suspended. <br /> <br />L <br />? <br />? <br />2.
