<br />Mr. Belzer reported that Chief'Shortle had requested that some of our street <br />lights be changed to Mercury Vapour Lights. Nir, Shaw; seconded by D1r. Bennett, <br />then introduced a resolution that these lights be changed to Mercuay Vapour Lights, <br />which resolution was read to Council. <br />It caas moved by Mre' Shaw, seconded by Mr. Bennett, that the rules of law <br />requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Ro11Ca11'i Ayes -'Mess'rs"Sh'aw," Benn.et`t ,' Walker; Mason,'Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - Non.e. <br />., . <br />Nlotion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved iby Nlre Stiaw,- seconded by 1Ir. Bennett3, that the Resolu-Lion be <br />approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call : Ayes - Niessrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Niason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />" rIotion carried <br />' Resol"utiori Passed <br />NIr. Belzer then recomcriended that we have an ordinance to keep buildings in <br />order and to.have Mr. Wieland look at these properties and issue'orders to have <br />them fixed,. Mr. Belzer also recommended that the County cut the brush at Robley <br />Lane because of the visibility. It was found that this had been taken care of. <br />Mr. Walker then notified Cotiricil that the Sexton of the Village Cemetery <br />had resigned and that this job was open to some applicant. ' . Mr. Shaw, reporting for the Finance Committee, said that ttie Committee had <br />reviewed the Pay Ordinance and found it to be in order'"'and recommended that it be <br />approved. It was then moved by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. P4ason, that Pay Ordinance <br />No. 502-P be'approved anci passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs_.Shaw, Bennett, Wallcer, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />. .. , ? ?Iays - None., .. , , ,. . . <br />P-iotion carried <br />Pay Ordinance Passed <br />NIr.,Shaw then reported that the Committee was very much concerned over the <br />number.and size of the bills. Mr. Shaw then brought up the matter of salaries and <br />said that they could not come close to the recommendations of the Police Chief and <br />recommended ah increase of 47o. Mr. Shaw said that the Committee also recontmended <br />a salary of $3170.00 for the combined C1erk-Treasurer position?:' Mr. Shaw, seconded <br />by Mr. Bennett, then introduced Ordinance No. 894, entitled" An Ordinance Fixing <br />the Compensation and Bonds of the Elected Officers and the Compensation of Members <br />of Council of the ViTlage of Mayfield", which ordinance was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr: Bennett, that the rules of law <br />requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended, <br />3.
