Special Council Meeting <br />January •3 , 1966 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Meeting at the <br />Town Hall at 8:00 P. M. on Monday, January 3, 1966, pursuant to notice given <br />to all members of Council according to law, NYayor-Bennett presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs Shaw, Busa, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Davis. <br />Absent - None. <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 20, 1965, wer.e then read <br />to Council. It was moved by Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr.-Shaw, that the Minutes <br />of the Regular Meeting be approved and passed as amendede <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Busa, Walker; Mason, Sloan & Davis. <br />Nays - None. <br />- Motion carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mayor Bennett announced that the Mayor and Councilmen Shaw and Busa <br />were sworri in on'December"20, 1965. Arnold Edelman, a Notary Public,adminis- <br />tered the Oath to these men at the Town Hali. Arnold Edelman, a Notary Public, <br />then administered the Oath of Office to members of Council,- James Niason and <br />Floyd Davis, and Clerk-Treasurer Dwight•Loclcemer. <br />The Solicitor announced that the Bond for the Mayor has been filed <br />with the Clerk-Treasurer and1the Clerk-Treasurer°s Bond with the Mayor. <br />Mayor Bennett then said that nominations for President of Council <br />Pro Tem-were.iri'order. Mre Shaw, seconded by Mr. Busa, then nominated Mr. <br />Sloan f or President of Council Pro Tem. Mr. Walker nominated Mr. Mason, but <br />the nomiriation failed f or want of a Second. Upon motion made and carried <br />that the nominations be'closed, Mayor Bennett asked for a vote on the Candidate. <br />Roll Call: tlyes - Messrs Shaw, Busa, Mason, Davis,. Walker. <br />Nays - Sloan. <br />Motion carried <br />Mr. Sloan elected <br />Arnold M. Edelman, a Notary Public, then administered the Oath of Office <br />to Mr. Sloan, President af Council Pro Tem. <br />The.questiori was rai_sed as to who should sign checks now that the offices <br />of CTerk and Treasurer have'been. combined. Af ter-some discussion, it was <br />agreed that Mayor Bennett or Mr. Sloan will sign the checks along with the <br />C1erk-Treasurer. ' 1. <br />
