Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Shaw, introduced Ordinattce #949, entitled; "An <br />Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mayfield by Transferring <br />Certain Property in the Northeast Portion Into Apartment House District", which <br />was read to Council. <br />Mr. Walker, seconded by Mrm Davis, moved to refer the above mentioned <br />project to the Planning and Zoning Committee. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Davis, <br />Abstained - Busa <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Mr. Edelman informed Council that the Regional Planning Commission has <br />nothing presently drawn up for commercial development of the Village, but they <br />will shor.tly, have a plan f or the whole Village. <br />Mr. Peterson reported that field work on the sidewalks for SOM Center <br />Road North of Wilson Mills Road is completed,and is in the drafting room. The <br />final plans should be ready f or contracting in May, 1966. Mayor Bennett suggested <br />that Council put priority on SOM Center Road over Wilson Mills Road, r4r. Peterson <br />also stated that Worton Park Boulevard paving should begin by the?next Council <br />meeting. Mr. Walker questioned whether the residents on Ridgebury Boulevard were <br />requised to put in their sidewalks within a oertain period of time. Mayor Bennett <br />stated that the residents were given the opportunity to install their own sidewalks <br />without any definite time limit. Mayor Bennett requested Mr. Sloan to contact <br />Mayfield Heights to check on the time of installation of sidewalks in that City <br />on Ridgebury Boulevard. . <br />Mayor Bennett stated that f our (4) bids f or garbage and rubbish collection <br />and disposal had been submittedm The f our bids were: <br />1. Quigley Disposal $695.00 per month, <br />2. Crawf ord International 840.00 per month, <br />3." Geauga Disposal, Inc. 727.50'per mdttth, <br />4. Charles E. Shiffer,Jr. 695.00 per month. <br />Mayor Bennett recommended that Quigley Disposal's bid be disqualified because <br />there was no deposit check submitted and f ailure to meet specifications. He <br />also recommended that Crawf ord International be not considered due to•the-ir high <br />bid. <br />It was thett brought to the attention of-Council that Mr. Shiffer has one <br />(1) 1963 truck while Geauga Disposal has eight (8) trucks, but Mr. Shiffer stated <br />that he has stand-by trucks if need be. <br />Mr. James Crawford of Crawford International then stood up itt reference <br />to Mr. Shiffer; Crawf ord International is presently hattdling Highland Heights <br />with one (1) truckand completes the collection in six (6) hours, where it <br />previously took f our (4) tsucks, <br />Mayor Bennett called f or a tett (10) minute recess at 10e30•P. M. The <br />meeting was resumed at 10:40 P. M. <br />7.
