Mayor Bennett announced that the_ Mayf ield V"illage Cbmmunity Clu'li will <br />be holding a card party on March 25, 1966, at 8:00 P. M. in the Town Hall. <br />Mayor Bennett then read a letter from the Community Club, which complimented <br />the recent clean-up o£ the Village Hall. <br />Mr.,.Charles E. Shiffer, Jr.then thanked Council for the opportunity of <br />serving the Village of Mayfield in the capacity of garbage and rubbish pick-up <br />and disposal. <br />Mayor Bennett then read a report of activities f rom the Mayfield Yillage <br />Fire llepartment. <br />Mayor Bennett also read a letter from Eire Chief Porter in which he inf ormed <br />Council of his resignation from the Fire Department as of April 1, 1966. Mayor <br />Bennett recommended Council to accept the resignation. <br />Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Shaw, motioned that the resignation of Fire <br />Chief Porter be accepted. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Busa, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Davis. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Mayor Bennett thanked Chief Porter f or his many services over the past <br />twenty years with the Village Fire Department. <br />Mr. Shaw recommended that the Solicitor draw up a resolution, commending <br />Chief Porter, and submit it to Council. <br />Alan Hejcl was appointed acting chief until further notice. <br />Mr. Sloan reported that he had received numerous telephone calls f rom <br />residents of Ridgebury Boulevard regarding sewage backing up in the sewers. It <br />was checked and found that the sewers were fu11. <br />Mr. Anthony Smeraldi reported that the residents of Robin Circle adjoining <br />rlayfield High School have received no assurance fram the School Board that they <br />are doing anything about the air cooling unit behind the school and that they <br />were treated with undue disrespect by the school board at the last meeting. <br />Mr. Sloan, regarding the Council meeting with the School Board, said his <br />interpretation was that the board inferred we have no interests in the matter <br />as a council, and suggested that the Clerk mail the School Board a copy of our <br />Nuisance Ordinance. <br />9.
