Fire Chief Hejcl has heard nothing about the State Fire School at <br />Columbus or Fire Inspection. <br />Mr. Sloan said that he, Mr. Weiss, Frank Lupica and Mr. Mason had checked <br />the road situation in Worton Park. He reported that the contractor had done <br />the fine grading but no top soil had been replaced for seeding. <br />Mayor Bennett said that he had observed them and there was not enough <br />top soil taken away f or stock piling. <br />Mr. Mason thinks that indiscretion was used in the way the top soil was <br />handled. . <br />Mr. Peterson said there was not very much wasted. It would have to have <br />been separated from the clay. <br />Mayor Bennett said they had to rely on the opinion of the job Tnspec'tor. <br />Mr. Mason reported that. Schloss had done a very fine job as far as the <br />road and ditches were concerned. It was the communications that were poor. <br />Mayor Bennett asked Mr. Peterson what could be done about it. Mr. Peterson <br />replied "pay the Contractor for putting on top soil." <br />Frank Atterberry, 6224 South Woodlane, asked Mr. Peterson if the contract <br />called f or the ground to be prepared for seeding. <br />Mr. Peterson said the contract read that "he shall save any top soil <br />that is possible." The State says only that the ground is prepared, ready <br />for seeding. <br />Mr. Mason read from the contract Section 3, Page 1, Item i, under waste <br />< applies to surplus excavation) to the extettt that stones are disposed of, <br />top soil shall be salvaged wherever possible. <br />Mr. Edelman asked that we-take time to check this matter later. <br />Mr.Walker, f or the Welf are Committee, had no report. <br />Mr. Sloan read the minutes of the Public Hearing, July 11, 1966, held on <br />proposed Ordinances Nos. 959 and 960. <br />Mayor Bennett announced, regarding the proposed five story apartment <br />building that Mr. Caplan will present plans showing exactly where the building <br />will be located and that Council and residents in the immediate area be <br />invited to observe. Action wi11 not be taken until a later date. <br />Mr. Sloan read the minutes of the Planning and Loning Commission of <br />July 11, 1966. <br />Mr. Edelman said that, pertaining to the proposed Lawson sign, it was at <br />variance with the Building Ordinance instead of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />2.
