pick up the Thornapple pumping Stations. To pick np the area around the gnlly, <br />the sewer would.go above ground and would go from Wilson Mi11s to Thornapple <br />attd.over to the pumping stations. The sewer was f irst plaaned to go from <br />Wilson Mills Road all along SOM Road but that would leave some of the Village " <br />unserviced. The sewer would be about 11 feet deep at Metro Park Drive. From <br />the Park property North, the sewer would be contained in a 24 inch erock. •. <br />Mr. DeMore said that, as Ear as assessments were concerned, Hill Top No. 2 <br />would be handled exactly as'Ai11-Top No. 1. <br />Mayor Endress then told Mre DeMore that we were haviag meetgngs with the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission to do away with Midvale and did not want any part <br />of a sewer on this road and asked that some other route be considered, as Midvale <br />should not be a residenfiial street, because of the small lots. <br />Mr. DeMore said that the area between.Fisher's and SOM would not be <br />constructed Eor a time,and that it would depend upon.how fast this area <br />developed. Although Mr. Westmoreland said that this sewer was big enotigh to <br />take care of all our needs, it was questioned by Council as according to County <br />Standards Hill Top No. 1 did not prove out that way. _ <br />This discussion with the County representatives brought up a touchy <br />subject, "The Odors coming from the pumping station on Beech Hill Road.*" Mr. <br />Belzer again remarked that they had not been corrected. Mr. Westmoreland said <br />that it was caused by Saaitary and Storm water being mixed in the Storm Sewer, <br />and was local in nature; that this could be eliminated by extra chlorination <br />at the station::. <br />Mr. Belzer brought ont, however, that it was his.opinion that it was <br />coming from the low staek and nothing would be corrected until this stack was <br />raised. The county man said they might make a study to see what could be done. <br />Mr. Peterson said-'that he had talked with Mr. Puzinski about the matter and Mr. <br />Puzinski said that chlorination would take care of the matter. Mr. Peterson <br />said that he was of the opinion, however, that the station should have a <br />higher stack. • . <br />Mayor Endre'ss said that after hearing of the plans f or Hill Top No. 2, <br />if Midvale could be eliminated, the rest looked all right to him, <br />Mr. Wedler, seconded by Mr. Zorn, then introduced a resolution that <br />Council disapproves the proposed preferred alignment in Midvale Avenue on the <br />sewer improvement p1an,No. 3-5; that.the County is asked to stndp the area for <br />another location. <br />It was moved by Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Belzer;ithat the rules of law' <br />requiring a resolution to be read on three separate,;occasiotis be suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler, Bennett, Mason,Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. : <br />Nlotion earried. - <br />Rules Suspended. <br />2.
