Mr. Belzer, seconded by Mr. Mason, then moved that our Engineer be <br />authorized to prepare plans and'specif ications for the water main on SCM Center <br />Road, f rom the exi.sting water main North to the North Corporation line. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn, Wedler, Bennett, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />None. Motion carried <br />Mayor Endress said that he would expect these plans for the next meeting. <br />Mayor Endress then took up the matter of sidewalks and Mro Edelman said <br />that he had no reply from the State on the mattes. Mayor Endress said that <br />this question was brought up at the meeting and the State said that sidewalks <br />were not in their plans but would give them consideration on the saf ety?f actor. <br />, <br />rir. Peterson said that this matter was being considered in Columbus. Mr. <br />Peterson said that on the west side of the Freeway the line was close to the <br />property line and some walks would have to be moved three feet from the line; <br />that he didn't think they would move the line and going under the bridge the <br />only place the walk can be.put is between the pier and the curb and this side <br />has a lot of jogs. A nunber of these items-should be considered; that Council <br />or the Service Department should look at the situation and then sit down and <br />decide what to do; that this is a public relations matter. Mr. Peterson <br />then remarked that it was impossible to get the walks in this f all; that in <br />Bedford Heights people were notif ied to have their walks i.n by next May. <br />Mayor Endress said that we should postpone the matter for the moment and see <br />if we hear from the State and then get together and decide what to do, asking <br />at the same ti.me that Mr. Petersota go out with Council. Council then agreed <br />to go with Mr. Petesson on Sunday, N6vember'4th, to see this area, starting at the <br />Town Hall. Mayor Endress then read a letter from the Mayf ield City School District <br />saying that they were studying our Resolution No. 552; that their plans had <br />been approved by the State; that their plans called for an 8''inch maine Mayor <br />Endress.said that they had called and would like to set up a meeting for the <br />24th ofOctober to discus,s this matter. ' <br />The Clerk then reported that he had received three bids for a new police <br />car, one f rom Reynolds Ford Sales f or $2,349.87 allocoing $600,00 f or our <br />old car; one f rom Central Chevrolet, Inc. for $2,548.30, allowing $800.00 <br />f os our old car; and one from Shaker. Heights Buicka Inc.'for $2,770,44, <br />allowing $600.00 for our old ear< ' Mrm Belzer, seconded by Mr. Mason, then introduced Ordinance Noe 781_ <br />entitled: °'An Ordinance to Purchase a New Police Automobile°T, which ordinance <br />was read to Counci'la It was moved by Mre Belzer, seconded by Mr. Mason, thatthe rules of law <br />requiring an ordinance to be read on three separat'e occasions be suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn, Wedler, Bennett, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />5.
