<br />M inutes of the 8egular Meeting <br />January 21, 1963 <br />The Conneil of the Village of Mayf ield met in regular meeting at the <br />Town Hall at 8:00 P. M., Mayor EMdress presiding. <br />Ro11 Call: Present - Messrs Wedler, Bennett,Shaw, Mason, S1oan & Belzer. <br />Absent - None. <br />Y <br />The Minutes of the Rsgular Meeting of,December 17, 1962, were then read to <br />Conncil. It was moved by Mr. Wedler,,seconded by Mr. Shaw, that the Minutes.of <br />the Regular Meeting be approved and passed as sead. <br />Roll Call: l?yes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett,Shaw, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - Noneo <br />Motion carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mayor Eadress then asked for reports from the Comnittees. There was <br />nothing to report from the Building Committee. There was no meeting of the <br />Architectural Board. <br />Mr. Belzer, reporting_for the Safety and Service Committee, said that <br />they had held a meeting on January 7, 1963. Police Chief Shortle and Fire.Chief <br />Por.ter then discussed the change-over situation on the ruling passed by the Federal <br />Communication Corporation, that all Fire and Police Radio Frequencies must be <br />changeds The deadline f or this was October 31, 1963. Mr. D. Harvey, in.charge <br />of all'Police and Fire Radio serviciag, had a lengthy discussion with the.committee <br />on prices and ways and means. The,change-over for the Fire Department woald come <br />to over $5000.00. Mr. Belzer has all the iaformation on this matter. There <br />was a great deal of'discussion in Council about this matter, but no recommen- <br />dations;..f'rom the committee. Mr. Belzer also reported that his eommittee - <br />discussed the possibilities of easements along S.O.M. Road, so that water hydrants <br />could be set back far enough for the widening qf SOM without the costly utility <br />bill that we incurred on Wilson Mills Road. Mr. Belzer said that he did not'. . <br />wish thia matter to delay the line, as many residents along SOr3 were without water. <br />Mr. Wedler, reporting.for the Planning and Zoning Commission, said that <br />they had mnt oa Januarq 14, 1963, and,proceeded to read the miautes of their <br />meeting to Council. Mr. Wedler reported that Mr. Abendroth was to be consulted. <br />as to the delay on the balance of our Master Plan. The rest of the meeting was <br />taken up with a conferenee with Richard Van Curen on his apartment house ,. <br />development. <br />Mr. Mason, reporting for the Finance Coimuittee, said that they had had <br />two meetings aad did write u.p some of their thoughts.. Oae meeting was held with <br />Mayor Endress and the second with the Clesk, at rahich time the Gommittee went.over <br />the books familiarizing. themselves with the vasious funds before embarking upon a <br />1.
