inspected by three members of Council and Mr. Peterson said that thgs was done
last year, that corrections were noted and that it was up to him to see that
these corrections were made and that this he had done; that the circle at
the end of Meadowood had been taken care of three times. Mr. Edelman then
asked for the abstract of these streets and they said that they had everything
that Mre Edelman had asked for. Mr. Wedler said that there was quite a list
of corrections and that if Mr. Peterson and Mr. Wieland vouched for these corrections :
it should be okay. Mr. Peterson again said that in his opinion the streets should
be accepted. Mr. Belzer said that he would accept Mr. Peterson's word on this.
Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Wedler, then introduced Ordinance No. 796,
entitled: "An Ordinance Accepting Eastgate Drive and Nieadowood Drive for
Dedication", which ordinance_was read to Council.
It was moved by Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Sloan, that the rules of law
requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended,
Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan & Belzer.
Nays - Notte.
Motion carried
Rules Suspended
It was moved by Mr. Wedler, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that Ordinance No. 796
be approved and passed as read.
Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan & Belzer.
, Nays - None.
` Motion carried
Ordinance `Passed
,
The Clerk then read a letter from Mr. Peterson on the drainage on Metro
Park Drivee Mr. Peterson said that the men having trouble with drainage were
at Council and that they did not agree with him. He said that the only other
suggestion was that they all have sump pumps; ? that there was a possibility
that their drain tile did not go into the ditch and that they were overloading
th.eis septic tank.and this was getting into the basement. He said that some
contractor might be putting storm water in when it rains; that he did not
think that it was our duty to rod the sewer to see if it was open. The grade
is good and the renoval of splash blocks might benef it these people; that
an inspection of down spouts to the ditch and not to the sewer causes unquestion-
ably, large amounts of water going down around the foundation of some particular
homes. He said that he and Mr. Wieland could not f ind out where.
One of the home owners said that all these homes were built by Olson
and that their down spouts were hooked to the ditch and not tothe sewer and
that the last time it rained the water backed up so f ast the sump pump could -
not take care of it. This was in their floor drains; that this was clean
water and not septic water. The people still insisted that the water was
backing up in the sewer and that a swimming po ol in question was not causing
it because it was no good and not in use. Hr. Peterson then said that he ,
could dye test the system for about $300.00.
2.
