M. for a budget meeting at
the Town Hall.
Mayor Endress then asked f or reports from the various departments and
read them to Council. Mayor Endress also said that, as.there was some.question
about our f2es for building permits, he had asked Mro Wieland to get the fees
eharged by other municipalities and then presented them to Councilo Mayor
Endress went to brealc down these figures and compare them with ours and asked
that Council go over the literature and give.the question some thought. Mr. Peterson said that most municipaliti_es use cost or
square £ootage of the property; that it seemed to him to be unnecessary red_
tape as there were no more inspections on a$25,OOOm00 house than on one_f or
$10,000.00; that it_was more simple to set up a flat fee. Mr. Selzer said.:
that he would Iike to see one permit for everything; that it seemed unnecessary
to have.•a lot of little. feese , ._ _ . ?.
Mayor Endress said that we had an ordinance on trucks but Mr. Shortle
was getting into trouble on bttier things, and that people were objecting to
campers and trailers and boats parked in yardsm .
Nir. Wieland had asked the Safety Committee to consider the purchase of a
tar bucket as'this was desperately needed to do minor repairs; that there was
too much delay in ordering hot mix and the road could not be'groperly prepared
f or sueh treatment-and it only pulled outm Mr. Wieland said that, if one could
be purchased now he might get it in time to do considerable work this summer
when it should be done and one could be purchased without freight charges
if ordered with oi:her equipment being shipped to Earl Ives at Mentor. The
cost would be $904.00, The Clerlc said that there was suff icient money in
the Road Fund for this eqnipment.
It was moved by Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that Mre Wieland
purchase a tar bucicet,
Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan & Belzere
• Nays -.
