At this point Mr. Bennett remarked that he had checked into the rumor that the <br />Fire Department did not have to go off their band and found that this developed <br />from an extension given to South Euclid and did not concern us, as we were on <br />the Police Band and had to get off. The Finance Committee at this point made a <br />recommendation that we retain the 12 volt radio. It was moved by Mr. Mason, <br />seconded by Mr. Belzer, that the 12 volt radio be;..kept for the Village. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None,. <br />Motion carried <br />Mr. Belzer then reported that the Police Chief had asked that he, our <br />Solicitor and the Fire Chie£ be given permission to review the Blasting Ordinance <br />and Fire Prevention Code. He advised that the two be combined in order to malce <br />sure that proper coverage and clear-cut understanding of the Blasting Ordinance <br />be included in the Fire Prevention Code. Mro Edelman said,that he had been <br />talking about this ordinance and would have something f or the next meeting. <br />rir. Edelman then advised Gouncil tnat with apartments coming into our <br />Village, that Council should enact an occupancy ordinance. rir. Edelman had <br />borrowed one from Cleveland Heights and suggested that it be referred to the <br />Safety and Sesvice Committee for review. Mayor Endress said that Mr. Wieland <br />should have this for the next Safety and Service Committee meetittg. <br />Mr. Wedler, reporting for the Planning and Zoning Commission, said that <br />they had had quite a few visitors at their last meeting and read the Minutes <br />of their meeting to Council. The Commission had a request to rezone property <br />on SOM Center Road and were told that the Regional Planning Commission were <br />working on this area._ The Sun Oil Company were also at this meeting, but did <br />not get a def inite answer to their request as yet. Mr. Wedler also reported <br />that yir. Taylor had agreed to sell his property whiah had been under question <br />f or so long and this would clear the deed to property held by Mr. Carl Kaslcy. <br />Mayor Endress then spoke of the Robertson water line and said that he <br />had an easement to make this connection possible. <br />Mayor Endress then turned over a mutual aid f ire contract from Gates <br />Mills to Fire Chief Nelson Porter for study.
