Nlayor Endress said that he felt that all <br />_ of the people he appointed were capable of so doing and that this was his <br />reason f or app'ointing Nir. Wedler; that all he could say was that Mro Sloan <br />had his objections and they were probab,ly well said; that in'the past there <br />had been a concentration of inembers from one end of town. Mr. Shaw said that <br />these were men of good integrity and it should not be questioned. Mr. Sloan <br />said that he did not question this at all. Mr. Bennett then.said that he would <br />like to•see more men brought up for appointment. Nir. Belzer said that there <br />would be three on the committee living on one street and he would have to go <br />along with what NIr..Bennett and Mr. Sloan said, Mr. Sloan said that he was <br />sorry that this had to be brought up at this meeting; that he thought it was <br />to be taken up and resolved at an earlier time. <br />Mayor Endress then said that there was a question before the house <br />and asked for a roll call. <br />Roll Call: _Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Walker and Mason._ <br />Nays - Messrs Bennett, Sloan and Belzer. <br />Mr. Edelman then reported that the Niayor had the right to vote. As <br />Council could not agree, Mayor Endress tabled this matter until the next meeting <br />and said that if Council would make up their minds to someone, he would accept <br />their decision. , <br />Mayor Endress then appointed Mr. Alan Bennett and Mr. Leslie Belzer <br />and Mr. Robert Shaw to the Building Committee. It was moved by Mr.'Nlason, <br />seconded by Nir. Sloan, that these appointments be confirmed. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Appointments conf irmecl <br />Mayor Endrress then appointed Mr. Torrey Walker.as Trustee of the <br />Mayfield Union Cemetery. It was moved by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Bennett, <br />that this appointment be confirmed. - <br />Roll Ca11; Ayes - Messrs Shaw,Bennett,Walker,Mason,Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Appointment confirmed <br />Nlayor Endress then appointed Mr. James Sloan as Council Representative <br />and Mr. Henry Dumont to the Architectural Board. It was_moved by Mr. Belzer, <br />seconded by Mr. Shaw, that these appointments be confirmed. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Nessrs Shaw, Bennett,.Wallcer, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - Nonee <br />Motion carried <br />Appointments confirmed <br />Mayor Endress then appointed Mr. Torrey Walker as Chairman and Mr. <br />Allatt Bennett and Mr. James Sloan as members of the Welfare Committee.
