Mrv Edelman, a Notary Public, administered the Oath of 0f£iee to Mr. Belzer. <br />Niayor Endress then told Council that they were starting out on a <br />neca two-year term; that they were all seasoned pros and knew what the job <br />was; that he would like to suggest and ask that each one be honest and above <br />board with everybody in the organization; said Niayor Endress: "We are all <br />here to do what we can to better Mayfield Village, not f or what we can get <br />out of it and I ask and pray you fellows continue to serve Mayfield Village <br />to the best of your ability and be honest to yourself and fellow officers and <br />there should be no reason f or unresolved issues if we all put the Village on <br />_ top and not ou-rselves; so let's aim for that and as f ar as the state of the <br />Village is concerned, we are darned near brolce and we have a lot of things to <br />resolve financially and it's going to take a lot of work and:I hope everybody <br />takes their full share." <br />Mayar Endress then said thai he had certain committees to appoint; <br />that each member of-Council had had,a copy_of his report. It was then moved <br />by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Alason, that Council approve the whole slate <br />section by section. There was some objection to this in Council, so Mr. Shaw <br />withdrew his motion. , - _ <br />Mayor Endress then appointed Mr. I,eslie Belzer as Chairman, and <br />Mr. Alan Bennett, Mr. James Sloan, Mr. Frank Hangosky, Mr. Floyd Davis, and <br />Mr. Clarence Schwed, to the Safety and Service Committee. It was moved by <br />Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Bennett, that these appointments be confirmed, <br />Roll Call; Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett,jdalker,A4ason,Sloan & Belzer. <br />I <br />Nays - Nonee . <br />, Motion carried <br />, Appointments Confirmed <br />Mayor Endress then appointed Mr. James Mason council representative <br />and Mr. Carl Wedler to replace Mr. Charles Uhlir on the Planning and Zoning <br />Board, Mr. Bennett then questioaed tha appointment of Mr. Wedler, saying <br />that this would be two from Worton Park and that it would not be f air to the <br />Village. It was then moved by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Belzer, that the <br />appointment of Mr. James Mason be approved, <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett,Walker,Mason,Sloan & Selzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />, Appointment Conf irmed <br />-It was then moved by Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Walker, that the <br />appointment of Mr. Carl LJedler be approved. Mr. Mas,on then spoke shortly of <br />the good qualittes of Mr. Wedler and said that he was a good man. Mr. Bennett <br />again said that the village should not have two members from the same place. <br />Said Mr. Bennett: There are frive votes on the board and three of them would <br />be from the same area." Mr. Sloan said that it did seem out of keeping'to <br />do this. A1r. Mason said that all of council had alway,s run as councilmen at <br />large and this was in keeping with our ways.
