Minutes of the Regular Meeting
- May 18, 1964
The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular meeting at the
Town Hall at 8;00 P. M., Mayor Endress presiding.
Roll Call: Messrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer, present.
Absent - None.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 20, 1964, were then read
to Council. It was moved by Mr. Mason, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that the Minutes
of the regular meeting be approved and passed as read.
Roll Callt Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer.
Nays - None.
Motion carried
Minutes Approved
- Mayor Endress then asked f or reports from the various committees. Mr.
Sloan, reporting f or the Architectural Board, said that they had met on April
23rd and approved three homes; that there were no plans and no meeting would
be held-in May. Mr. Waiker had nothing to report f rom the Welf are Committee. Mayor
Endress then reported that he had been getting a great many adverse comments
on the bus service on Wilson Mi11s, that he had talked with Highland Heights
and they were in the same position; that there was a new schedule out today
but he had no time to check it over. Mayor Endress said that hev!thought this
situation was serious enough to take aQtion and correct this miserable
situation; that we should be interested.in our people gettiag somewhere in the
connty without so much transferring; that it was no?a talcing a half day to get
down town or go anywhere and that he now wished the Welfare Committee to get
into this and see what connections were scheduled and then go down and see
Mr. Hycde and see what can be done about the situation. Mayor Endress then
gave Council quite a tialk on the subject of what should be expected from a
bus company. This whole thing is a ridiculous situation, said Mayor Endress.
Mr. Bennett, reporting f or the Building Committee, said that they were
investigating the proposed garage to see what they could get; he said that:
he could get what was.wanted and wished to know if Council would do anything
about selling bonds or doing something to get some money for this project.
He said that, if the money was available, they would.go ahead with the project,
that it would run around $16,000.00 or $20,000.00 with wiring, that the
building would be 100 by 40 feet. Mayor Endsess then asked the Building
Committee and tiie Finance Committee to get together and come up with an
answer on this. - Mr. Belzer, reporting f or the Safety and Service Committee, said that
they had met on May 4,,1964e A letter was read f rom the Illnminating Company
1.
