~~ <br />- ~ MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Village of Mayfield. <br />March 1, 1979 _ <br />The.:Council of the `7,illage of Mayfield met in Special Session on Thursday, <br />March 1, 1979 at 8:50 P.M. in the: Village Hall. Council President, <br />Vince~Busa presided. <br />Roll Call:, Present: <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: <br />Messrs., Bennett, Busa,.Flynn and Grogan. <br />Messrs.", Boger~;<?ti-Mrs.'_Hanus~..and .MayoY Be;ebe~. ,~ ,.: ~. <br />Messrs., Amendola, Feneli,: Avery and Bordonaro (c'ame late; <br />Mr. Busa stated that the.pu~pose of the meeting was to select an Architectural <br />Firm to do the.new Service Building and".. to accept the ~id.for the new cars <br />for the Fire and Building Departments. He stated that future Special <br />Meeting notices be dictated by himself only. Mr. Busa stated that Mr. - <br />Bordonaro had called-him earlier to say.he was ill but if a quorum was <br />lac3cing he .would consider coming -~o,_<','~kie meeting. <br />Discussion was; held with re to the "necessity of having~a quorum to consider - <br />the.leg:islation at hand. Mr. Busa insisted that Mr. Bordonaro~_be called <br />and-asked Mr. Amendola to phone him and instruct.a Policeman to go pick <br />him up. <br />°Since a vote of four was sufficient to hire.an..architectural.firm, Mr~ <br />Bus a. stated th''a.t.wpuld be the first matter to consider while waiting for <br />Mr. Bordonaro. - <br />Mr. Busa stated that Council' was in receipt of a letter of recommendation <br />from the Architectural Review Committee stating that.two firms had. been <br />selected for consideration: <br />Copper and Associates, Architectss Fee: $19,550.00 <br />Collins and R'mer, Architects Inc. Fee: $21,OOOn00 <br />Of the two firms, he Review Committee recommended Collins and Rimer. <br />Due to the short t~me involved, they felt tYie larger firm, having a <br />greater number of ~ack-up people, would provide.a faster and more complete <br />service. <br />Mr. Grogan questio ed the procedure of selecting an architectural firm <br />and if the firm of Morton Leavitt had been considered. <br />Mr. Amendola explained that about 10 firms had been requested~~to send in <br />resumes.•. Of those received, the Review Committee selected four firms which <br />were sent specifications from the Building.Department.and asked to submit <br />an estimated cost of the building. and their fee. A meeting was held on <br />.February 5, 1979 of the Review Committe with Mr. Busa and Mr. Bennett <br />being present. The purpose was.to interview the four firms. On February <br />22, a9~econd meeting was held with Mr. Bennett .sitting in on the meeting, <br />to make a decision re a recommendation for Council. <br />Mr. Grogan questioned. if a.resident had been considered for the work.n <br /> <br />
