~~ - ~ MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL Village of Mayfield. March 1, 1979 _ The.:Council of the `7,illage of Mayfield met in Special Session on Thursday, March 1, 1979 at 8:50 P.M. in the: Village Hall. Council President, Vince~Busa presided. Roll Call:, Present: Absent: Also Present: Messrs., Bennett, Busa,.Flynn and Grogan. Messrs.", Boger~;<?ti-Mrs.'_Hanus~..and .MayoY Be;ebe~. ,~ ,.: ~. Messrs., Amendola, Feneli,: Avery and Bordonaro (c'ame late; Mr. Busa stated that the.pu~pose of the meeting was to select an Architectural Firm to do the.new Service Building and".. to accept the ~id.for the new cars for the Fire and Building Departments. He stated that future Special Meeting notices be dictated by himself only. Mr. Busa stated that Mr. - Bordonaro had called-him earlier to say.he was ill but if a quorum was lac3cing he .would consider coming -~o,_<','~kie meeting. Discussion was; held with re to the "necessity of having~a quorum to consider - the.leg:islation at hand. Mr. Busa insisted that Mr. Bordonaro~_be called and-asked Mr. Amendola to phone him and instruct.a Policeman to go pick him up. °Since a vote of four was sufficient to hire.an..architectural.firm, Mr~ Bus a. stated th''a.t.wpuld be the first matter to consider while waiting for Mr. Bordonaro. - Mr. Busa stated that Council' was in receipt of a letter of recommendation from the Architectural Review Committee stating that.two firms had. been selected for consideration: Copper and Associates, Architectss Fee: $19,550.00 Collins and R'mer, Architects Inc. Fee: $21,OOOn00 Of the two firms, he Review Committee recommended Collins and Rimer. Due to the short t~me involved, they felt tYie larger firm, having a greater number of ~ack-up people, would provide.a faster and more complete service. Mr. Grogan questio ed the procedure of selecting an architectural firm and if the firm of Morton Leavitt had been considered. Mr. Amendola explained that about 10 firms had been requested~~to send in resumes.•. Of those received, the Review Committee selected four firms which were sent specifications from the Building.Department.and asked to submit an estimated cost of the building. and their fee. A meeting was held on .February 5, 1979 of the Review Committe with Mr. Busa and Mr. Bennett being present. The purpose was.to interview the four firms. On February 22, a9~econd meeting was held with Mr. Bennett .sitting in on the meeting, to make a decision re a recommendation for Council.
