<br />Mr. Amendola stated yes, Mr. Barclay had been contacted but he did not <br />submit a resume'. <br />Mr. Grogan stated that Mr. Leavitt was a resident and asked why he hadn't <br />been considered and insisted on seeing the letter the Building Department <br />received from Mr. Leavitt. <br />Mr. Busa asked Mr. Amendola to get the letter so'Mr. Grogan could see it. <br />Mr. Bennett said to save time he would like to offer some comments until <br />Gus returned. He would not go with the.firm of Collins & Rimer, one <br />reason being the_ fact. that their; fee had been. cut- by thousands of dollars <br />and it was still higher than Copper and Associates whose bottom figure <br />was of Copper and Associates and thier history of work; in the .area and <br />felt they were best suited to do the work.. <br />Mr. Bordonaro arrived at this time, 9:15 P.M. <br />Mr. Amendola returned with the letter of Mr. Leavitt and. Mr. Grogan read <br />it to Council. <br />Discussion was held on the procedure of selecting the firms. <br />,.. • <br />It was-.stated that~the„Architect fees would be part of the total funding <br />for the project. , <br />Mr.-Flynn stated he hac~1 spoken to Mr. Amendola about the•firms and he <br />feels Copper and Associates would be the°mos•t~reasonak5le of the two firms. <br />Mr. Busa asked Mr. Amendola for his preference.' <br />Mr. Amendola replied that. he could work with anyone and would leave the <br />decision,_up, to. Council,. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to approve the recommendation <br />of the Review Committee of Collins & Rimer. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mr.~Bordonaro <br />NAYS :. B enne.tt , Bus a-; -Flynn and Grogan <br />Motion Not Carried <br />Recommendation Rejected- <br />Mr. Grogan s.ta~ted that Mr. Leavitt wasn't given a fair chance and pr~rhaps <br />it was due to the fact that his name was mentioned in the letter. <br />Mr. Bennett, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro; made.a motion to hire the firm <br />of Copper & Associates contingent their fee would not exceed $19,550...00. <br />Mr. Bennett explained the details of the contract of Copper and Associa.tes., <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS : None ~ Motion ~ C ar.r~:ed <br />Contract awarded to Copper and Associates. <br />
