~~ <br />Mr. Flynn stated: that Mr. Relic had verified tr,.ere are funds avail- <br />able for the new fireman which would mean 24-hour, 7 days a week, <br />2 men working shifts. <br />Mayor Beebe stated there is an existing eligibility list and all <br />that is needed is a simple motion. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a motion to hire a full- <br />time fireman from the existing list. ~ - <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Mayor Beebe to notify Mr. Booth, Civil Service Commission.. <br />Council discussed ;the 24-Hour Police Dispatching with the Finance <br />Committee to review at the next meeting on April 3, 1979. <br />Mayor Beebe questioned if it was the money issue or what? Mr. Relic <br />okeyed the funds. If there are still questions, Chief Stevens will <br />sit with anyone to discuss the matter. Mr. Bennett said that would <br />be f ine . <br />Paging Units (Bell Boys) = Mayer Beebe said he would like to invest- <br />gate better prices for the units. The matter-is to be presented <br />to the Finance Committee. <br />Street S.tripin - Mr. Amendola said specs were presented to~Chief <br />.Stevens and Mayor Beebe for their review. Mayor Beebe said Council <br />would receive copies. <br />Mr. Bennett suggested the work be put ou-t for bids instead of having <br />off-duty Policemen do the work so the striping can be finished <br />before the end of Sept.ei~ber. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Amendola stated that Mayfield Village is not large enough for a <br />big contractor to bid the work so the men who work .for these con- <br />tractors will do the work on week-ends but the Police Department <br />objee~t tc the work being done on week-ends due to the traffic problems. <br />Mr. Busa suggested joining Mayfield Heights or Highland Heights. <br />Mr. Hovancsek suggested the. work be put out for bids and then make <br />a dicision later. <br />Mr. Bordonaro, ~.econded by Mr. Grogan, made a motion to put the Street <br />Striping work out for bids. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Clerk to Advertise <br />Mr. Bennett questioned the time involved in getting the new fireman. <br />
