With regret, he had to report that .the Village will riot <br />be getting the anticipating Federal Funding. He have Council a copy of the <br />letter he ,sent today, speei;al delivery, to Charles Vanik appealing the <br />decision. He had recieved several notes from Don 5teuens. Chief.~Stevens <br />-is in Columbus taking a course that would cost in the neighborhood of $1500 <br />if taken locally. ,He returns for the week-ends and works Friday evenungs <br />and Saturcl.ay which .proves his dedication .to his-job. He reports that <br />Probationary Patrolman, .John J.-Del~3illian is averaging an academic percentage <br />of 94.45. He is in contention for a scho~larshi~paward which is ,given to <br />the highest overall-finisher. Chief Stevens is, requesting a meeting with <br />the Mayor, Council, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr.. Amendo'la, Planning, and Zoning Comm., <br />Law .Department and the Police Traffic Bureau for the purpose of discussing <br />the proposed re-location of the Progressive. Insurance ~.riveway on to Wilson <br />Mills Road.. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTB': <br />Budget/Appropriations - Mr.. Bennett, stated a muting had been held on April <br />3rd. The Department Heads and Mayor were not .there as, they had.-hoped to <br />discuss some items with them. The Committee did d.iscuss,the purchasing <br />of an Ambulance for.,,,,$38,000.00 with a six month b,ill.ing ,time. If legislation <br />can .be approved by May 15th, possible delivery could be expected in . <br />December or even as-bate as January and could be part of next year's budget. <br />He would recommend-this. purchase unless the rejection of the Federal Funding <br />would change,Mr: Relic's, approval. ~ -, ~~ - - <br />Mr. Relic stated that if the payment wr~uld come after. the first fo the <br />yeaf:, there would be no problem. - <br />Mr..
