'The Auxil-nary -Policemen are: ~ Harold Rassau, Karl Strasser and his son, Ken Whitmer, Wallace Ferrante and the two new additions: He serif a letter 'out today to R.T.A. re the shelters for the Village and hpped they will be installed soon. With regret, he had to report that .the Village will riot be getting the anticipating Federal Funding. He have Council a copy of the letter he ,sent today, speei;al delivery, to Charles Vanik appealing the decision. He had recieved several notes from Don 5teuens. Chief.~Stevens -is in Columbus taking a course that would cost in the neighborhood of $1500 if taken locally. ,He returns for the week-ends and works Friday evenungs and Saturcl.ay which .proves his dedication .to his-job. He reports that Probationary Patrolman, .John J.-Del~3illian is averaging an academic percentage of 94.45. He is in contention for a scho~larshi~paward which is ,given to the highest overall-finisher. Chief Stevens is, requesting a meeting with the Mayor, Council, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr.. Amendo'la, Planning, and Zoning Comm., Law .Department and the Police Traffic Bureau for the purpose of discussing the proposed re-location of the Progressive. Insurance ~.riveway on to Wilson Mills Road.. COMMITTEE REPORTB': Budget/Appropriations - Mr.. Bennett, stated a muting had been held on April 3rd. The Department Heads and Mayor were not .there as, they had.-hoped to discuss some items with them. The Committee did d.iscuss,the purchasing of an Ambulance for.,,,,$38,000.00 with a six month b,ill.ing ,time. If legislation can .be approved by May 15th, possible delivery could be expected in . December or even as-bate as January and could be part of next year's budget. He would recommend-this. purchase unless the rejection of the Federal Funding would change,Mr: Relic's, approval. ~ -, ~~ - - Mr. Relic stated that if the payment wr~uld come after. the first fo the yeaf:, there would be no problem. - Mr.. Bennett, seconded by Mr. Boger,.-made-a motion to .authorize Chief Hejc1: acid Chief Stevens to proceed with the preparation.- of. th.e specifications and advertise for bids.
