1 ~~ <br />Mr. Bennett questioned if an ordinance was passed to establish the title <br />only, how c?o we get one. <br />Mr. Feneli explained. <br />Mr. Bennett asked if one is appointed other than .the Mayor, will the <br />Department Heads ta]~e orders from him or the Mayor. <br />Mayor Beebe said the new appointed would act as a medium. <br />Mr. Busa said he was .of the opinion that grievance~ss.are between the De- <br />partment Heads and the Mayor - not the employees.and the Mayor. <br />Mayor Beebe stated that the Department Heads are aware of the employees <br />coming directly to him and get a report of what transpired. This was <br />stated in the discussion on the wage negotiations if an employee was unable <br />to get satisf actory results from the Department Head, then he had the <br />right to discuss it with the Mayor. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Boger <br />NAYS: Messrs., Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan and Miss Trask <br />Motion Not Carried <br />Ordinance Failed <br />Mayor Beebe .requested the Lae Director to draft.an ordinance establishing <br />the position of Safety~~rDirector with the salary of $1.00. <br />Mayor Beebe stated that a request from the Ohio State Liquor Board ,h ad <br />come in to authorize the selling of C-2 liquor at Heinen"s. We can: <br />1. Object, and request a hearing <br />2. Object, and not request a hearing <br />3. Not object <br />He would recommend objection without a hearing in all fairness to the <br />Methodist Church. <br />Mr. Boger stated that the license would be issued even if we do object., <br />L awson"'s sells it, the drug store and a beverage store across the street. <br />He didn't see any sense in objecting. <br />Mr. Busa, .seconded by Mr: Bennett, made a motion to object to a liquor <br />license being issued to Heinen's, Inc. <br />Further discussion was held. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Bennett and Busa <br />NNAYS: Messrs., Boger, Grogan, .Flynnaar3d Miss Tras]c <br />Motion Not Carried <br />
