According to the. contract, the work will continue until <br />May 30th of 1980 but Mr. Amendola has informed him that if the weather <br />holds out, cement will be poured approximately 800 feet from Echo Drive <br />(east) to River Road. <br />The Mayor stated that another subject of importance was the constant <br />spillage of the Beech Hill Pumping Station. He had sent a letter to <br />Commissioner Sweenet and recieved no reply. He had called and asked <br />for a meeting to be set and had been promised confirmation by the end <br />of the day. He had received no call. Stated in letters he had received, <br />three different spills had taken place dumping raw sewage in the stream. <br />15,830 gallons one time, 218,750 gallons another time, and the last time <br />was Friday with over 1,000,000 gallons. This has been going oh for over <br />eight yeas now and the Village can tolerate it no longer. <br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS: <br />Budget/Appropriations - Mr. Bennett stated that the Committee recommends <br />the Mayor hire a replacement for Patrolman Wiley immediately. They <br />would also like to discuss the addition of one more patrolman to the <br />force.in an executive session later tonight. <br />Public Safey---=Mr. Flynn stated that a meeting will be held within the <br />next month. <br />Public Service,,~'Public Utilities - Mr. Flynn stated that the new service <br />building is mov%ng along with completion expected sometime in November. <br />It was stated that having to wait .for steel is the only thing holding <br />up progress.. <br />The Committee is studying the cable T.V. subject and will be submitt~~ng <br />their report to the Law Department for his opinion. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola stated a meeting will be held <br />this Thursday. <br />Cemetery - Miss Trask reported that Nancy Bardou had called in re to <br />touring some school children through the cemetery. <br />Council of Councils - Mr. Grogan stated that the picnic had Peveen rained <br />out shortly after it got underway with Senator Metzenbaum attending. A <br />meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday. <br />Planning & Zoning - Mrs. Hanus stated she had attended .the September 10th <br />meeting and was instructed to submit to Cuxuncil the following for consid- <br />eration: <br />1. A request of Mr. Sid Caplan to change three names of streets in his <br />development of "Hanover Woods."e <br />1. Tinderwood Court to Qual Court <br />2. Hardwood Court to Beckley Court <br />3. Silkwood Lane to Burrey Lane <br />
