~~Q T'~_~or Beebe commented on the telegram he had sent to the County Commissioners regarding the on going Beech Hill problems - mentioning Mrs. Fitz Gerald presence in the audience this evening who is well aware of these problems. On October 9, 1979 170,000 gallons of raw sewage was dumped again. Apparently, a no care attitude is being taken or else they have no answers. He is recommending a moritorium be put on all building that would have an effect on the Pumping Station until a fix is made. This is in reference to three or four major developments. He has about had it with no answers. He held a meeting with Mr. Avery this morning and felt some fast action should be taken now. No one seems to care about this serious situation and questioned if Council would like to discuss the subject further in executive session. Mr. Grogan questioned if the Mayor had talked to Ralph Crissman on this. Mayor Beebe confirmed that he had spoken to him and Steve Sebesta but everybody is playing closed mouth. His trip to Columbus on a bus with local community mayors was an effort to try to get people interested in the real estate assessments. Pending bills re the matter needs everyones support to keep these higher taxes from happening. Coming back on the bus, the mayors had considered a referendum petition but it would require 300,000 signatures and time would be the determining factor on this. Jack Kafer should be following up with a letter. The Senate President put on a good presentation but with poor results. People should contact their State legislators for action., Heinen's should be opening their doors on November 7th. Wilson Mills Road has been bulldozed again; it's still not good, but passible. He would like to commend Mr. Bennett on his help at the new service building last Saturday. Gus informed him that they worked together in the rain. The Recreation's Hayride was a tremendous success. COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS Mr. Busa suggested the news media pick up on the Beech Hill Pumping Station situation and call the Mayor and Council members to get their individual opinions on the subject in hopes that it would be beneficial to the residents. Mayor Beebe said he would be happy to supply the media with copies of all correspondence on the subject. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Appro riations - Mr. Bennett said they had a meetin on October 2~" but their was nothing to report. Public Safety - Mr. Flynn announced that the meeting scheduled for the 17th will have to be rescheduled for the 24th at 7:30 P.M. Notices to be sent.
