~~ <br />The maximum amount would be $15,000 to $20,000 over a four- <br />year period with no guarantee and certain ties by the County <br />and Federal Government. Council agreed that the act was designed <br />toyprovide dollars for economically depressed areas and that <br />there may be more deserving communities than the Village <br />who could use. the funds. <br />The Mayor further advised the Planning & Zoning Commission <br />held an organizational meeting and since there were only five <br />members present, no election of officers took place. He stated <br />the Civil Service Commission had its organizational meeting and <br />they are actively involved in reading rules and regulations from <br />other communities in order to create the method of adoption of <br />the Village°s Civil Service Commission. Patrick O'Malley was <br />elected Chairman and Glen Booth, Secretary. Mayor Leech stated <br />it was his intention to eliminate the Administrative and Legisla- <br />tion Committees. They would be replaced by a Mayor's Advisory <br />Board. The matce-up and function would serve as a communication <br />network from a standpoint of administration to various areas in <br />the Village so we are all kept up to date. He stated two Council- <br />men would be appointed along with representatives from Worton Park, <br />Aintree Park, Kenwood Homeowners, Community Club, Garden Club, <br />Aintree Park Apartments (R.Brown), Wilson Mills East (L. Flynn), <br />Wilson Mills West (F.Rickey), Maples, Hiclcory Hill, Metro Park, <br />Beta Industrial Park and Village businesses other than on Beta; <br />to total to be 15 members. The Mayor then announced he will <br />create a "bi-centennial" committee after he receives names from <br />persons wishing to serve. He said we have a historical town and <br />should participate. <br />Mr. Prager commented that he and Mrs. Negrelli had attended the <br />first meeting of the Hillcrest Council of Councils, but Council <br />has not authorized a resolution for money yet. He announced <br />Mr. Ed Rose would serve on the Finance Committee. He stated <br />-that the Recreation Board was to be established by February's <br />Council meeting. <br />Ordinance 74-42; entitled, "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ESTAB- <br />LISHED AND REVISED MANUAL OF RULES FOR THE AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT <br />AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 930; 1969-9; 1969-14; 7-24; and <br />70-47" . <br />Council decided to review said Ordinance further. <br />Ordinance 74-62; entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE <br />EMPLOYMENT OF AN ENGINEER FOR THE VILLAGE OF MAYFl"ELD VILLAGE. <br />Mr. Barclay, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a motion to <br />suspend the rules of law requiring an Ordinance be read on three <br />separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bordonaro, Ficken, <br />.
