~~
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
Village of Mayfield Village
March 17, 1975
The Council of the Village of Mayfield Village met in regular
session at the Village Hall on Monday, March 17, 1975 at 8:10 P.M.
Council President, Frank Prager presided.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Roll Call: Present: Messrs., Barclay, Bordonaro, Ficken,
Mrs. Negrelli and Messrs., Prager and Schulte
Absent Mr. Bennett and Mayor Leech
Also present were Chief Hejcl, Chief Shortle, Messrs., Amendola,
Byrnes, Foltz, Hovancsek and Relic
Mr. Prager opened the meeting by asking for comments from the floor:
Mr. Hans Kraus, 6762 Wilson Mills Rd. (442-8822), filed a complaint
stating that his lot which faces on Maplegrove is landlocked because
Maplegrove was previously vacated to Seneca, therefore eliminating
entry to his lot. Mr. Kraus received a letter from Engineer Steve
Hovancsek advising him that Maplegrove had been totally vacated to
which Mr. Kraus claimed he could not accept this as an explanation.
Solicitor Byrnes suggested to Mr. Kraus that he present the accurate
facts and surveyors report to Mr. Byrnes and Mr. Hovancsek for
review of the entire situation. Mr. Byrnes stated that it would
appear Mr. Kraus' lot is not landlocked because he owns the lot in
front.
Mr. Ron Barnett, Managing Agent for Aintree Park, questioned the
Council as to whether or not the No Parking Signs on Aintree
Park Dr. were put up as a result of a petition from the home owners.
If so, he would file a petition from the apartment residents for
count r action to the home owners petition. Mr. Prager stated it
was~t°a~ action of the Council as such, but that of the Police Depart-
ment. Mr. Byrnes told Mr. Barnett that this was not the first
time this problem had been brought before Council and the home owners
petition was not the only reason for putting up the signs, but that
of a 2 year study by the Police Department. Mr. Barnett suggested
more research and consideration be given to the apartment residents.
He also stated that there have been repercussions as a result of these
signs and he does not want it to get worse. Therefore, he would
appreciate all facts be reviewed.
Mayor Leech entered Council Chambers.
Mayor Leech suggested to Mr. Barnett that a,group representing...
both the apartment residents and the home owners meet with him to
discuss all the facts.
Mrs. Robert Shupp, 891 Aintree Park, felt that the apartment
residents were being discriminated against, because there was no
parking on either side and wondered if there were other streets
in the Village with this same situation.
