S~ i_ t_.° -7- Mayor Beebe, seconded by Mr. Schulte, recommended the appointment of Mr. Lawrence Byrnes as the Law Director for 1976 for Mayfield Village. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Mr-s. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte NAYS: None ABSTAIN: Mr. Grogan Motion Carried Appointment Confirmed Ordinance 76-3, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COMPEN- SATION OF THE LAW DIRECTOR AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY", was introduced by Mayor Beebe. Mr. Byrnes explained that this ordinance was the same in all respects to the previous ordinance, with the exception of Section 2 where the Law Director will not attend to the prosecution of traffic violations. A lengthy discussion followed concerning the amount paid to the Law Director during the past year, and what the new salary should be since an Assistant Law Director has been retained. Mr. Schulte, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to suspend the rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte NAYS: Mr. Grogan Motion Carried Rules Suspended Mr. Schulte, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to pass Ordinance 76-3. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte. NAYS: Mr. Grogan Motion Carried Ordinance Passed Mr. Byrnes was sworn in by Mr. Grogan. Mr. Byrnes stated for clarification, that the Mayor and Council President have the right to administer the oath of office.
