~~~ <br />-2- <br />Mayor Beebe said he received a copy of a letter sent to Chief <br />Shortle from a resident of Highland Heights commending Patrol- <br />man Stevens for his help and service when she was involved in <br />an accident. <br />The Mayor also stated that a letter was received from Action <br />Line-Cleveland Press regarding an existing problem of truck <br />traffic on Wilson Mills-East. Letter was passed onto the <br />Public Safety Committee for answer. <br />President's Comments: <br />Mr. Barclay read a letter received from the Teachers Association <br />at Mayfield Center School and also one from Mr. Booth, regarding <br />the Right Turn on Red situation at Wilson Mills. They suggested <br />that consideration be given at least during the morning and after- <br />noon school hours. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Public Safety - Mr. Flynn advised of the Auxiliary Police Rules <br />and Laws to be passed under Old Business. <br />Public Service & Public Utilities - Mr. Buses reported that an <br />evaluation of Village grounds and paving of parking areas were <br />under consideration for Council approval. He also stated that <br />consideration be given to the sidewalks under I-271 bridge and <br />street lighting and sidewalks on Beta Drive. Further discussion <br />will be held at Council Caucus. (Minutes of March 10th meeting <br />attached). <br />Bicentennial - Mrs. Negrelli reported that the next meeting of the <br />committee will be held March 25th at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Negrelli stated that work will begin as soon as <br />the grass grows. <br />Planning & Zoning - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the March 8, <br />1976 meeting. <br />Recreation - Mr. Flynn advised that registration of all summer <br />activities will be held March 17, 1976 at the High School. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Ordinance 76-8, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT <br />OF AND CONSTITUTION, BY-LAWS AND RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE <br />AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 930; 1969-9; <br />1969-14; 70-24; and 70-47; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ; <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Negrelli, made a~motion to suspend <br />the rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three <br />separate occas2ons. <br />
