-3- COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS: a', v t- ~.~0 Mr. Barclay appointed Mr. Bordonaro to the Cemetery and Council of Council Committees to fill the vacancy of Mrs. Negrelli. He also advised that Council Caucus will be held on Tuesday, August 31. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: Finance - No report. Public Safety - Mr. Flynn read the minutes of the August 5, 1976 meeting. Public Service & Public Utilities - Mr. Busa advised that he had talked with Mr. Abbate of Beechers Brook re the paving situation, and as soon as Mr. Abbate meets with property owners, he will report back to Mr. Busa. Architectural Review Board - Nir. Barclay advised the Board will meet Thursday, August 19th. Planning & 'honing - Mr. Schulte reported there was no meeting held however, the workshop is scheduled for August 26th. Board of Appeals - P~2r. Schulte read minutes of a special meeting. Recreation - Mr. Flynn stated Council has appropriated $2,000 to finish out 1976 plus $900 for the annual Halloween Party to the Recrea- tion Committee. M~RC - Mr. Flynn read minutes of the June meeting. OLD BUSINESS: Ordinance 76-14- - Prohibiting the Operation of Trucks upon j~vilson Mills Road east of SONI Center Rd. - (Given fifth reading) NEV3 BUSINESS Ordinance 76-19, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 76-17, AN ORDINAI~TCE PRESCRIBING SALARIES, RATES OF COIvIPENSATION, VACATION SCHEDULES AND OTHER BENEFITS FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE MUNI- CIPALITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY", was introduced by Council as a I~Thole. Mr. Relic stated that he was in sympathy with the ordinance however it is ill-advised in as much as we passed appropriations for 1976. T~Ir. Busa, seconded by Mr. Schulte, made a motion to suspend the rules of laE,r requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
